Many agencies still working for getting cold email and cold outreach for client acquisition but response rates seem lower than before are you still getting SEO clients through outreach or have referrals content and personal branding become more effective sources of leads?
 
In my experience, outreach still works, but it's not as easy as it was a few years ago. I'd focus on building trust alongside outreach, things like referrals, case studies, and consistent content tend to make conversations much warmer. A mix of both usually works better than relying on a single lead source.
 
Cold outreach still works in 2026, but it’s way less reliable than before. Inbox saturation is insane now, so response rates are lower unless your targeting + offer is very sharp. Most consistent SEO clients I see agencies getting now are coming from referrals, partnerships, and personal authority (LinkedIn/content). Cold outreach still works more like a volume game or for very niche, high-intent targeting.
 
Cold outreach can still work but I think personalization matters much more now Generic emails are easy to ignore Referrals content marketing and personal branding often bring warmer leads but outreach is still effective when you target the right businesses and offer something specific that solves a real problem for them

in my point of view cold reach is still effective way but referal seams to be quality lead and trust built easily to customer easy way to convert
