Is Chrome this bad now?

What the hell is going on with chrome and google?

1. Opening google.com is not instant despite having a smooth internet. Crawling takes around 2-3 seconds despite having a smooth internet.

2. FB and any other pages take around 2-3 seconds to open.

3. Overall crawling is slow and bad nowadays.

4. Almost every time I am hit with - We detected an unusual activity so please solve this stupid google captcha in order to proceed.

The extensions that I'm using are ublock, privacy badger, https everywhere, nano defender and grammarly.

I did reset the router and I changed DNS to open dns, cloudfare dns and now back to google dns but same thing. :(

Please advise how to solve this thing and if I need to move onto another browser for getting back the smoothness? What other browser is fast and good?

Thanks in advance.
I have no problem whatsoever with chrome browser. There is no lag, everything is pretty snappy. The problem you are having could be because of several reasons..

1) Machine hardware - Seriously, people don't think about it as much as they should. For example, 2 gb ram and hdd will leave you nowhere. Windows 7+ needs atleast 4gb ram and ssd (recommended 8gb ram).

2) Plugins - There are many resource hungry plugins that suck your bandwidth out. Basically, uninstall every plugin that you don't absolutely need.

3) Your router's capability - This is also one of the things we tend to totally overlook. Login to your router while you are surfing, and see the memory and cpu usage graphs. If it is hitting 100%, it is time to throw your router away. I had this problem with a low end router (Mi 3c) and I had to throw it away later.

4) Virus - Yepp! Your machine might have some kind of virus which is programmed to send data while you are online. Easiest way to spot these is to intercept your network connection with something like wireshark.

5) Route - do a tracert of the website you are having an issue with. Your internet connection speed might be good, but your ISP might not be following the best route to the website.

6) Internet settings - Yepp this could be a problem. Some isps may do stupid things like renewing the IP every 5 seconds. That is bound to create an issue with many sites. It is just an example. There could be 100s of other stupid settings..

7) Windows update - Yupp, it can be annoying sometimes. I generally schedule the update to run at night, when I am not working.

Switched to Mozilla after using Chrome for 9 years..Chrome is not as fast as it was once..

I using Chrome for years now and I didn't face any problems with them, if you facing a lot of problems with then uninstall it permanently from your PC/Laptop/iMac/Macbook(Pro/Air) what you have, and then reinstall or removing some extensions. This could help and not to forget is to reboot your device. It removes your system catch too so then it's 100% clean.

A traffic on the internet can trigger the captcha prompt. Forgot to tell you that, But it will disappear within 5 days or so.

turn off your vpn and try again

I have been having this issue for some time. The main issue comes with Facebook and Gmail. They take an eternity to open. I hope that these issues will be resolved in the next update. I still believe that Google Chrome is the best available explorer for us. What do you say?

back in the day when google took 10 minutes to load, no one complained a thing

Pro-tip: if you keep getting Captcha or CloudFlare's triggered because "you may not look like that safe" it's either because of infected userscript on Chrome or malware.
I had a client with this specific problem last month and got in touch with the lead tech guy at his ISP, which luckily is a friend of mine, who kindly showed me step by step how the threat triggers a baziilion of connections from your computer at once.

Stop downloading cracked/nulled shit, those are not simply keyloggers anymore.

Left Chrome and moved over to Opera. Opera is lightweight browser
