With all the recent Google updates, i'm considering using Blogspot blogs as satellite sites to push authority to my main site, is this strategy still effective at all?
Is Blogspot still viable for SEO nowadays?

They index very fast and you can rank for low difficulty keywords. It can be a good idea if you have some time.
the blogspot platform works even though its glory days of just blogging nd making connections are gone. In my opinion, it depends largely on how relevant the blog is to the strategy of the overall website.

i feel like the strategy is now less effective than it was before. it would be better to use that time to create good content for my main blog or get some legitiimate links. in my experience a single good page beats a number of bad satellite blogs.

To be honest, using Blogspot in 2026 is only viable for creating Tier 2 or Tier 3 properties to support your main sites. If you are trying to build a real brand or a money site, you need your own self-hosted setup (like WordPress or a custom CMS).

People still use Blogspot, but i wouldn't rely on it as an authority boost alone. If the blog has genuine content and gets some traffic, it can still have some value.

It's still useful for Web 2.0 properties and Tier 2/3 link building to diversify your backlink profile. However, I definitely wouldn't build a primary money site on it today. You need full control over your hosting and environment for serious projects.

nothing more than just any web 2.0 property now, it's lost it authority that it carried some years back.

Blogspot can still have some value, but it depends on how you use it. Low-quality satellite blogs won’t help much anymore. If you build relevant content, proper links, and treat it like a real asset, it can still support an SEO strategy.

Blogspot is fine for publishing content but I wouldn't count on it for link authority. I'd rather use it to share useful content than just as a backlink site.

Yes, but only as a supporting asset. Blogspot still gets crawled and indexed well, but using it as a satellite network to pass authority isn't nearly as effective as it was years ago. Real websites with traffic and editorial backlinks provide much better long-term SEO value.

Blogspot can still work, but maybe not as some shortcut for passing authority. If you use it, treat it like a real site, with unique, helpful stuff and build it over time in a natural way. Those thin pages made only to point back to your main site add very little value and they can turn into a problem later, after Google’s updates. At the end the quality, relevance and real usefulness matter far more than the platform itself.

It still works, but I wouldn't depend on it alone. Quality content matters far more than the platform, and I'd avoid using Blogspot just for direct money-site links.

I think Blogspot can still have a place but i wouldn't rely on it just because it is a Google platform if the blog has useful content and looks like a genuine standalone site it may still have some value platform itself matters less than the overall quality and purpose of the site

Blogspot can still be effective if it aligns with the overall website strategy, thanks to its ability to be quickly indexed by Google and the opportunity to rank for low-competition keywords.
