Is blogging still profitable today?

Everyone else here says it’s still profitable, I’m telling you it’s not.
Blogging isn’t profitable anymore, especially for beginners. I don’t want to discourage you, but that’s just the reality of it. People say 'focus on a niche' and 'just write helpful content,' but honestly, that doesn’t help much. At most, a beginner will give up within two or three months.
People prefer short-form videos these days, and on top of that, AI is getting insane.
I’ve tried building a blog over and over because I wanted to retire my adult site, but it’s never worked out :(

Blogging is still profitable today but it is more competitive now beginners can still succeed by choosing a specific niche creating useful content and staying consistent over time rather than expecting quick results

it’s competitive but not saturated. problem is beginners copy outdated methods. if u rely only on seo u’ll struggle. mix content with socials, email, something sticky. blogging alone won’t carry anymore

I have been thinking about starting a blog , but I keep seeing mixed opinions online. Some people says it is too late , while others say it still works.

Is blogging still profitable today or beginners , or has it become too competitive to make money?
There is competition, yes, but if done right you can add a revenue stream of 300$ per month or even more. Don't expect though to become a millionaire just from 1 blog.

I still think blogging works honestly, just alot harder now than before. I have a small horse racing blog myself and I noticed smaller targeted niches actually do better than broad “make money” type blogs because the audience is more loyal and engaged. It definitely takes longer now though. Back then you could throw up random SEO articles and get traffic pretty fast, but now Google is flooded with AI content and competition. What helped me more was treating the blog as part of a bigger thing instead of depending only on Google traffic. I wouldnt say blogging is dead at all, but low effort blogging probably is.

Make videos and embed them on your blog and use YouTube AI summary feature and post under your blog.

:)

Blogs can still make money, but it's no longer the case that you get traffic from just a few posts. The winners today tend to focus on a clear niche, build long-term credibility and combine SEO with email marketing or social media.

Blogs aren't dead, they're just weeding out the superficial ones. To make money, you need to target a really deep niche, combine multiple channels and use AI as leverage. Those who persistently build authority are still thriving.

I’d pick a niche I can talk about on a sleepy Sunday and still not get bored. That makes sticking with it way easier. What helped me was posting on a steady schedule and repurposing stuff on socials so it didn’t feel like shouting into the void. Once a small group starts coming back for your posts, it gets a lot more fun and the money side slowly follows.

Is blogging still profitable today or beginners , or has it become too competitive to make money?
Yes, blogging can still be profitable today, but the competition is much higher than before. Blogs that provide high-quality, unique, and useful content can still attract traffic and generate income through ads, affiliate marketing, sponsorships, digital products, or services.

I don't think so, because Google now suggests AI generated results, and blog traffic has dropped significantly

Yes, blogging is still profitable. Just pick the right niche and produce quality content

yes blogging is profitable today, but you need to publish best content. choose the best keywords. and put in the lot of hard work. you also need to do proper seo. then you can earn from it.

I’ve found that picking a niche you actually enjoy makes the grind way easier, because you’ll stick with it even on the slow days. What helped me was mixing written posts with quick videos or reels so people could find me in different places. Also, small thing, but chatting back with early readers goes a long way in making them stick around.

It's still profitable, but the easy days are gone. A focused niche, patience, and consistent publishing matter much more now than pumping out hundreds of articles. Most blogs fail because people quit too early, not because blogging is dead.

I found that picking a weirdly specific niche made it way easier to get traffic without fighting giants for every keyword. I also batch my content and schedule posts ahead, so even if life throws a curveball, my blog doesn't collect dust. Social media's cool, but email lists are where more loyal readers stick around for me these days.
