Blog commenting is still useful and plays an important role in SEO life cycle of a website. Not all the backlinks a website could obtain are contextual backlinks or do-follow backlinks. A comment backlinks 10% can be do-follow and 90% it will be nofollow but it doesn't matter.

If you check numbers of backlinks on any website then you might realize that most of the backlinks come from comment backlinks.

Search engines still give a lot of importance to these backlinks. They are small juices but keep collecting pennies make grand some day.

I personally have a lot of websites and I focus on comment backlinks especially from quality sites or those having good traffic. You will enjoy either the link juice to rank you high or traffic from real audiences.
 
Everything is working in seo, Blog commenting also working very well. However you must have quality blogs or you can also use blog comment for tier2, it also helps to provide natural look for website backlink profile

Yes it is, unlike other off-page activities(web 2.0, classified, social bookmarking etc) its not easy for your competitors to easily create same backlinks. The websites which are available for you to do Web 2.0, classified, social bookmarking are also available with others, but for blog commenting sometimes its not same for everyone.

Yes, its still effective only if you use it the right way. Spamming the blogs with irrelevant info is a waste of time.

Yes but only as part of a diverse link building strategy. I would not say it's a priority link strategy.
 
Yes it is effective as long as you do it in the right ones. So be sure where you are doing it. When done right it could give you decent results.
 
Blog Commenting is link building technique, Which really helps to build good backlinks as well as it also helps to keep in connect with Webmasters, Experts & Bloggers.

Blog Commenting with Do-follow link is more impressive but most of Blog give No-follow link. So Do-follow Blog Commenting is good to go.
 
blog commenting still effective and if so what type of blogs should you comments on. Just to give you some blog commenting tips, It would make sense to comment on blogs that are related to your niche
 
Yes blog commenting is still working but it may take some time to index but yes definitely it qorks and also try to post in your niche and keep patience
