is blackhat dead?

One recent aspect of black hat discussion that has confused things is the conflation of BH and SEO. Four years ago, it was understood that BH techniques ran the gamut from methods that involved SEO, to methods that were entirely unrelated to SEO. As black hatters became more skittish about talking about some methods due to legal issues, however, they started talking only about BH ways to game SEO---hence 'BH SEO' now being thought to be the entirety of what BH is. Google has been trying to create the illusion that they are on top of all the BH tactics with its constant updates, and that is what is creating the impression that "Black Hat is dead." It is not.

BH isn't dead, just the company devs are getting smarter and bolder.

SEO was always first and then BlackHat came afterwards.
The new Algorithms will always come first trying to stop us and then
we will respond just like we did in the 1990s ect. If you cannot adapt
then go to work somewhere else.

Really its pretty pathetic that large companies with many computer engineers
can only come up with Panda/Penguin...It will be defeated eventually.

Blackhat Seo never dead, many software are releasing daily for blackhat seo. yes everybody reply thread content should be unique, we know that's Google rules that's reason we are suggestion content and quality.

o yea, its dead. Google shot its ass down and its just lying there .. can't even move :D

:p No wait, just kidding.. if it was true ppl here wudn't be making xxx$ a day

You won't find blackhat methods which work with penguin easily, before a newbie could join bhw and see alot of working techniques and rank quite quickly.Penguin changed that you're highly unlikley to see effective bh techniques in the open now because G reads these forums and will simply close the door on any posted techniques.
Test different ideas, that's the only way you'll find what works. If you could rank a high comp keyword now would you be spilling your guts about how you did it,I doubt it.

This is a good thing, lazy seo'ers will fall by the wayside because they want the techniques handed to them.A cleansing if you will.Blackhat works but it does require a budget now to do it effectively.

i think, bh is not dead, but blackhaters must to be smarter day after day, - i think research nd work is the key, there is not a magical formula

blackhat is dead. BHW should be closed.

After Penguin update BH works better than ever. It just've become even more black.
Now there are lots of pure doorways in SERP instead of shallow MFA sites which dominated pre-penguin SERP.

Kind of. Just look at the advices given here in the "Blackhat" forum... no different than in the Whitehat forum or Warrior Forum---write unique articles, slow link building, etc.

Blackhatters have been defeated. Instead of coming up with new ways, most are happy to concede defeat and conform with the new standards enforced by Google by giving out advice like the above.

Black hat is like an engery drink which will give you an instant boost, but you can't live on Redbull all your life. You got to have good food as well to live healthy. :)

Using Black hat methods to get that initial push and using white hat methods to ensure sustained results is a wise strategy.

I would say 'Old black hat methods' are dead. The new ones are warming up and will storm the internet shortly. :D

I notice that the New tactics for BH that get around these update loopholes are kept really quiet. That's probably another reason why you don't see as much sharing in the forums. Either way, ranking with BH for most is just going to be temporary.

I just learned the difference between black hat and white hat the other day, and you make a good point; people probably keep the new black hat methods quiet. I mean, wouldn't people who make the updates and fixes look through forums like these for the latest tricks?

I agree, negative seo is alive and kicking.

blackhat isn't dead..per se

it's in a transition ;) this is where the true internet marketers are weeded out from the others

The best combination today are bigger whitehat sites with some BH push.

Although relying on google ONLY is not the way to go. We're marketers after all - we should be able to make money from different sources.
