Is Bermanhosting really that bad?

Its not bad. Some minuses are: no support at weekends; no option to reinstall the OS without opening a ticket; server goes down once in a month or two.
Going on 35+ hours of no activation after signing up. Not even an email aside from a payment confirmation. I'm thinking that they should really remove the "Have your server online in minutes!" claim that is on their site. 
I've used 2 other providers in the past and understand that it can take a bit of time to get things up and running. Though, at most, it was about 8 hours for Website Service Plus back in the day. And at least they sent me an automated "Thank you. We'll let you know as soon as your VPS is up and running...etc..etc..." email, in addition to a standard payment confirmation.

I have been using them in the past and still using them now...
I did had few issues with server that were solved after talking with them and never happened again.
Also I've had some custom requests about VPS that I'm on and they built it accordingly to suite my needs.
I'm quite happy customer.

Quick update. VPS was finally set up this morning. That's about the only thing positive that I can say.
Incredibly slow with terrible latency and constant disconnects throughout the afternoon. Speed tests were showing about 4 down / 2 up on average. 3-5 seconds after a click for the screen to refresh on my end. Essentially unusable. Decided to go the refund route instead of a support ticket because I can't really wait another few days to (hopefully) get things fixed. Was told that it could take about 8 business days to process the refund. That seems a little odd to me. Takes 6 hours to shut down the VPS but 8 business days to process a refund via PayPal?
Anyway, went with HostStage this afternoon due to all of the great reviews here at BHW. I was online in less than 3 hours (on a Sunday afternoon, even) and the VPS is blazing fast. So far so good.
Edit: Berman ended up issuing a refund this morning.
Maybe I was just unlucky. I actually had a VPS with them about 7 months or so ago and it was great.

Bermanhosting support is a nightmare. They take a lot of time and all they do is reboot your VPS, just to let it crash again.
I've read online that they share their HDDs between 20-30 Users, while 5 are recommended max. That's why they are so cheap.
I now took some money in my hands and bought a VPS that costs more but at least its fast and works stable, but time is money and and it also causes a HELL lot of stress if your VPS is always down, and when it's up it takes 5 Minutes to connect...

I only say this: my machine got corrupted (=everything lost with 2 days waiting just to get it running again)the second time within a week and its definitely the last month I am using this provider. looking for a stable vps provider which is seo tools friendly.

They worked well for me for some months, then suddenly started to cash and working with them became a nightmare, so I looked for a new provider and never came back.

Bermanhosting was ok before GSA SER became popular which was few months back. Now, a lot of people are hogging up Berman's VPS and their VPS extremely slowed down.
