Is anyone interested in betting?

Used to do for a bit of fun, start with a £10 bet on an event, then keep betting the full amount up until 10 times or until you lose.

You're only risking the initial £10 but when your next stake is £700 it's quite interesting.
I did that a lot, the key is to make a plan and stick to it. No emotions attached.

Well interested in the journey. And maybe you can also explain what is the reason you take that bet.

Better to be the bookie than the gambler :p

I mean sure, but fuck those entry costs. You could work on a trading strategy with my laptop and a strong coffee - competing as a bookie is going to take a whole other kind of investment.

This is interesting to me. If you're doing it consistently without an edge you're -EV in the long run and that would always bug me.

However, a friend of mine back in my uni days had a similar thing with slot machines on a night out. If he lost £10 at the start of the night it wouldn't really affect him in the short term but if he hit a decent win (which did happen) he'd have a good night and get the rounds in.

Won't tell you your business but not trading on emotion just helps you ride out the variance but it's not the key. That alone won't give you long term value.

Or you can cash ur first 10$ if you win the first bet and start again with the 10$ that u won

I never actually looked into it, Seo, licensing fees, insurance, whatever other requirements, I bet that does add up fast (if you want to be on the legal side of things).

Lol, of course, emotions aren't the biggest thing in gambling but based on your posts, I guess you already know this.

It's a part of the whole machinery, with other things like knowledge, experience, strategy, psychology, etc.

If you want, we can share and talk about our tactics in private messages.

Life's too short at times.
If you are doing this once a month and starting with £10 then you are losing £10, but yeah possibly risking thousands on a single bet.

Down side is if your account is gubbed your max bet might only be £100...

Well interested in the journey. I always love to pick brains about strategies totally different from what I do

I started a journey to 500$ starting with 10$. Im currently at 70$ and I play 2 matches a day with odds 1.20 (decimal) Currently betting at a local site in my country. Will see if they will accept my other bets or not

Betting? Gambling? You will fail in life, run a business, not a bet.
Okay mom.
You can get limited in a bookies as well as online.

That would happen a lot less irl.

Also, here in my country, there are shit ton of betting shops (I guess this is what they're called in English), so if you want to bet big, you can simply divide it and bet in multiple objects.

You can skin some of the Asian bookies which might make some of the licensing cheaper but still. Not a market I'd want to touch with a barge pole.

That's the ticket. Personally, I think sports knowledge holds you back unless you're really on top form which is going to be the tiny majority of traders. Experience in finding an edge and dealing with weird exceptions is 95% of it.

It's something I've been meaning to make more time for in the next couple of weeks so if you want to drop me a PM we can talk shop. Though, the strategies I know aren't mine to share I'm afraid. I only know them because I built automation tools for similar things and got to know the guys actually testing this stuff.

In the UK we have people watching all the shops by camera for this kind of thing and more and more it'll all move towards membership cards with ID checks but that's not the case everywhere. Not every strategy requires going into a shop though I've only done it a handful of times.

Do what you want, sorry to say things like that.

Well, the OP is right. Just because it's not your area doesn't mean the OP will fail. Some of my SEO projects were originally funded by sports betting so it's not like it stops him from building a business from it either.

Actually, depending on the country you're from there are much worse ways to fund your business. Anyone from the UK trying to bootstrap an IM business should absolutely take advantage of some of the free money lying around in bookie bonuses. We have such an insane gambling market that you could get a bigger bankroll than your average affiliate site in a few days of simple matched betting.

For some reason, I can't message you.

I was watching some youtube channels related to sports betting that are from the uk, and it's crazy how many bonuses you have with your bookies.

Either I've hit a limit or your account is too new. No rush, my next couple of weeks are mostly SEO work anyway.

Yeah, we have a real gambling problem so it's a competitive market. Be wary of some of the claims in those videos as they'll likely be affiliates but yeah there's money on the table in the UK. If the US keeps going this route and gets their sports betting market open that'll be something to see though.

Okay, based on this thread, I'm glad to see that there are people interested in betting in some way.

I will make a new thread where I post my daily bets with profits/losses. We'll see how it goes.
