Is Affiliate Marketing a Big Scam?

See the flat I live in? It doesn't count cos AM is a scam. Neither does the food me and my family eat and the clothes we wear.

I find it funny that a bunch of broke IMers are opposed to what I've said lol. Do me a favor, if you don't have any money or assets, please don't even make a comment on this thread. It's always the broke ones that talk the most smack lol.

At least most broke IMers (lol) here are having dedication and not cry out when something is not work for them and blame it's scam.

Don't have any money or assets! lol! :p

Affiliate marketing allowed me to quit my job. What a great scam!

IM is not a scam.....but not everyone can earn big money from it......also it is not a relieble income source....today you can make 10.000$/day and tomorrow 1$/day or nothing. That's why i have an offline buissnes too.

Affiliate Marketing is not a scam.

In my experience, well the people I pay, make most of their money by never buying into PPC to the offer site directly. They get traffic from free sources like google and facebook and have a bunch of offers on their own website. That way they can try to monetize each unique viewer on their site.

I think the only scam in the affiliate marketing industry is when they cut off some of the earnings or when they dont pay you at all. Now, Im not on the receiving end, im on the giving end and my affiliates have earned a lot from me. That being said, I know i am not the only website they promote. They have a bunch and times that by what the earn from and they are big players. They just focus on rankings and marketing, thats it. No need for customer service, shipping dispatch, cc disputes, inventory management, purchasing inventory, risk in inventory. etc.

I strongly believe affiliate marketing is the greatest thing ever created. Both players win! Pay per performance :)

"Maybe I didn't do everything right" Really....No shit!!.... Some off us make some good money from affiliate marketing thank you....and using the one you mentioned. 55% is not a bad margin imho. PM me if you want some proof but it will just make you more depressed......
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it....you just need to be smarter than some others out there to get a small percentage of the market...and you only need a very small percentage...Otherwise IM is not for you.

i would say it seems like its not for you the right thing.

I made like 2 sales from $3000 dollars invested. :sucks:

Why would you spend $3000 before figuring out how well your offer would convert?

never got into affiliate marketing but the way I understand it is that you are advertising someone elses product for x%. I do not see this as a scam. It works like this:

Company A does not do affiliate marketing sells product X @ 100$ for 100% revenue. Reaches 100 leads for 10,000 in revenue
Company B does affiliate marketing for 40% commission on sale for product X @ 100$ for 60% revenue. Reaches 100,000 leads for 600,000 in revenue. and the 40% is split across a lot of affiliates.

This is why affiliate marketing exists. It helps the product owner as there is less advertising work involved. It helps the advertiser or affiliate as they do not have to worry about all the back end bullshit of product, creation, shipping, and the 100's of other things involved with running a business.

% can be as low as 5% or as high as 75%. It seems like a solid method for all parties.

edit: not to mention company B saves on advertising costs. There is a lot too this but it is not a scam

In closing, OP you are doing internet wrong. Sorry.

It takes pure effort and pushing using the right methods for that time. I wouldn't ever put all my eggs in one basket too, being conservative and taking well thought out risks is the way for me. In no way is it a scam to the right people, but it isn't something you can dive into and expect an instant positive outcome

To me affiliate marketing just seems like a big scam, it doesn't seem legit or a something that you can make big bank on, I'v never seem one person on this forum or other ones show any real solid proof that it actually works either. The truth is, you can never get rich as an affiliate for any company that pays you such a low percentage of earnings. There are so many risks involved with it too. I member a while ago I spent about $3000 advertising aff and some other sites on juicyads network and from all of that, I made like $100 back.

And I was doing media buys and selling one of the most in demand products you can. I made like 2 sales from $3000 dollars invested. Maybe I didn't do everything right, but I think I did more then enough to see a little more then $100 dollars back. These companies that offer affiliate programs and advertising are all scam artists and don't give a damn about you or anyone else. So in conclusion, if you want to make money go and start an offline business or something, thanks.

Cashout453,

You do realize this is a billion dollar industry in online advertising, right? Just because you had bad luck does not mean affiliate marketing is a "scam". You wasted 3K and only made back $100 because you jumped the gun too quick and wasted your own money. Becoming profitable doesn't happen overnight and you need to test ALL KINDS OF VARIABLES to see results and optimize off it.

EVERYONE makes money with affiliate marketing. The company profits, and the affiliate profits. You ARENT ALWAYS going to find the best offer or the best company to work with. That is part of testing what is working and what isn't working.

Next time, give me the 3K and I'll make you more than $100.

If you don't like to be an affiliate start your own product, that's simple ;)

I will tell you what is a big scam: work like a rat in a job that you don't like, have only one week of vacation, and than someday your boss say "oh sorry you are out of the company, we need to cut some people"
