Your site got hacked. How would this mean that AdSense no longer works? Of course it does. As long as you have targeted traffic it's a worthwhile monetization approach.

Pennies on the dollar eh? Sounds to me like your niche just doesn't pay well. I'm seeing $10-$15 CPMs - some days over $20 CPMs. I've also done a lot of optimizing on my sites - both on-site and in adsense backend as well, split tested like a mofo, and did a lot of research on keywords/niche payouts before hand. You get what you put into it.

So your CPM varies 100% just like that from $10 to $20? Sounds like a low traffic site, amirite? High traffic sites CPM don't vary like that.

It depends on your niche, country and other factors. Search for your competitors and see what they're using.

I wouldn't say it's LOW traffic, it's honestly pretty damn moderate. Not in the 3M+ range quite yet, but in the near future, it should be. It varies because the majority of my traffic is US, and 2nd is UK. Under that is Kenya. Randomly, kenya traffic will spike and send me tons of hits which lowers my cpm. On the months when Kenya isn't hitting, I'm closer to the higher mentioned range. It doesn't fluctuate THAT often, but when it does it sucks for sure.

It's been working great for more than a decade now, lol. Just that, as always, not all traffic is the same - it depends on what the advertisers are willing to pay.
Thus, only premium traffic from USA, UK, Europe- those will command the most money in that aspect, or each PPC will pay much better as compared to a country that has lower advertising demand.
So, if you have premium traffic, you'll be making some good revenue automatically from that.

That's definitely the case if you pick the wrong niche and you get mostly non-Tier 1 traffic

i earn between $2 and $6 per day for a 1,200 more or less unique visitors. i have a very targeted website and Philippines doesn't have that many adsense advertisers, so i wouldn't expect big time money. i can scale the website for sure but i would need people to help me, which i currently don't have

The highest paying ads are shown on the SERPs, Gmail and other Google properties.
They push the leftover uncirculated ads onto the content network. That's you.
