Iphone just bricked - best android to buy

What's your budget? How much are you wanting to spend. If money is no problem, just go for the S21 Ultra. I have one and absolutely love it. The camera and battery life are awesome.
Don't know yet, dont need top quality or anything though. Don't really care that much tbh about processing power etc... useless cause I'm not a mobile gamer
Oneplus is an inexpensive phone that you cannot go wrong with. Oneplus phones don't have Samsung's flashy features and gimmicks for sure, but they always get the basics bang on. No frills, no-nonsense, no unnecessary bloatware, and blazing performance. They also last very long. My Oneplus 6T is in its fourth year, and it's almost like new (apart from the battery lol).

If you want the best camera, I would not recommend it though. It's useable and daytime shots look wonderful, but night-time shots and videography leave a lot to be desired.
Yeah I heard this about Oneplus that's quite attractive, just no frills and quite beautiful design and colors, lasting long.
Didn't know that about the night shots, will take that into consideration.
I know that some of you guys are programmers and I think that you’re going to regret having android phones considering that we will be coming up to a cyber war, whether it’s called that or not. I believe that android phones are going to get hacked in mass for malicious purposes and people in droves are going to move to the iPhone. Not because iPhones were not hacked but because they were more secure than android.
Lmao iphone is just as malicious but it's all with apple. To be honest I would rather have my data exposed to some random dude / russian guy rather than FAANG
I'd wait for the Pixel 6 if you can. If not, Pixel 5 is more than enough. (IMO ofc).
How do the videos/photos look on Snap / instagram? I noticed that Iphone usually looks better on those apps for some reason.

I don't use social media, but I imagine the compression is the same across all devices as it's a set size they need to get it to?

Been using a Samsung S10 Plus for a couple of years. Solid phone with solid specs (of course, the newer models are better). That said, I'm switching to Apple later this year.
Same here. Samsung user (m series) here. Looking forward to switch to iphone (waiting my current emi for mac to be over lmao).

The thing I hate about android phones would be the bloatwares. There's just too many of them. I managed to disable most of them through adb, but this stupid wallpaper service keeps popping up no matter what I do.

I need peace of mind, hence... Apple here I come. :D

Exactly what I'm after.

When I was younger, I was all about customization, rooting, etc. These days, I just want a solid smartphone that works perfectly.

Good point.

Moto g phones I'd recommend, are relatively cheap, I currently have Moto g 5, had it for quite a while works perfectly fine.
Okay, thanks for the advice I should check them out.
A setting you can change.
Really? I never knew.
iCloud is very handy if you are within the Apple ecosystem. If not, I fully understand.
Yeah I understand its use when you're fully submerged but if not it's pretty useless.
Annoying, I understand but I also don't understand why one would need to change their region.
I've had to do it during travels sometimes, it's kind of a niche problem but just unneccesary restriction IMO that stacks with the other ones.
Understandably annoying. Tbh I never even considered one would buy an iPhone without having a mac.
Yeah that's me i guess lol
The latest iPhone actually has the second most sophisticated camera on the market currently.
Yeah that was kind of a bad point but there are some things you can do on android cameras that are amazing like the crazy zoom.
True. This feature is terrible and shouldn't be legal.
Yep
I might be too much of a boomer to understand why you'd need more apps
There are some unique ones that are useful that are only available on android.
Age restriction? How old are you???
My bad I must have phrased it weirdly. I AM old enough but I am required to "prove my age" by verifying my identity with google ---- this means sending a pic of my passport, which is just pointless and overdone. I think this is only iphone, cause I do not face any age restriction on my computer when i browse youtube.
I'm starting to believe you have an older version...
Might be true.
From your complaints, I can only suggest you get the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Anything else would either not be waterproof enough or the camera would be worse than the latest iPhone.

If you want to record videos like a pro, learn to do it with a real camera. Lol.

I saw my friends recording a music video with the latest iPhone.
And they never looked like they were recorded with a $10k camera.
It's just not true you can replace professional kit with a phone and AI boosted stuff.
They are not good pieces to record professional grade music videos.
You will be disappointed if you want to be a pro.

It might be good for static images on a sunny day or taking IG photos in decent lighting.
But recording serious material with it is not the best idea.

Can change that, I don’t even have safari installed on my iPhones or iPads

Can be changed

I backup to 3 different services besides iCloud, no issues.

Do people use that app? There are so many better ones, and they have great backup options.

That is a setting that can be changed also.
Really? didn't know the default opening could be changed.
Also, are the services external? That's kind of the problem I have, I don't want to back up to an "external" service. I just want to have it on my hard drive with no third party in between. Not for any particular reason, I just like having everything tangible to me, more comfortable that way.
It's just very simple I like the notes app.
Looks like iPhone users do not know how to research their own technology. Sad.
Hahahahah I guess not, I'm just learning all of this after 2 years of using an iphone :anyway:

Yes… clouds are external 3rd parties… so it isn’t a problem with iPhone, it is a you issue of a particular want. And yes you can back up your whole phone to a flash drive, made for the iPhone.

as for the notes app. If it is the app you chose to use, you accept it’s shortcomings… can’t bitch about the app you are choosing to use and blame Apple… that’s on you.

Actually I thought having an iPhone is funny. I want this cause I like toys.

Apple > Android dude
It turns out Apple ratio of sexy phones to non sexy phones is high. Android has many more phones, so the risk of non sexy phone is really high.

Best Android = Google Pixel phones because its 100% stock Android without extra bloatware apps that all other manufacturers add on top of Android. Google Pixel phones also get updates directly from Google while all other manufacturers take several months to implement last Google update. All Google Pixel phones are months ahead of other Android phones with updates & new features.
