Maybe the bidder wants the seller to pay exorbitant final value fee and paypal fee?
Yes account gets banned, however, this is a contract if you buy something from a seller on eBay, so I think if the seller brings the buyer before the court he will win?

No one will ever pay the actual fee.. it is clearly some twat mucking about lol.. even if you wanted it early you'd probably go a few hundred bucks over it's retail price... you'd have to be some arab oil billionaire to even consider paying $1000 over it's retail price... heck for $14,000 I'd want the damn thing gold plated & expect apple to give me the next few Iphones 6,7,8,9 for free as a package.

I got letter from apple earlier, factory unlocked pricing for 5s series will be


  • iPhone 5 16GB ? $649
  • iPhone 5 32GB ? $749
  • iPhone 5 64GB ? $849

but product will not available 21st, seems they are planing to holding it up for a month or two, and partner program profit margins are the thinnest. :(
 
Bids must be a joke, who the heck would pay so much for a phone they can get themselves for much cheaper?

Maybe someone hacked the bidder's ebay and paypal account, then he changes shipping address to his address. The seller gets the money and sends the phone out. Later the real owner of the account files a dispute because his account was hacked and paypal takes back the money from the seller.
 
What is all the fuss with iphone 5 which I think is overrated. Looks like in the near future, most of us will not be able to afford iphones the way things are going.....right now Iphone 3g is going for $250 and the price has refused to come down...now iphone 5 for $100k? Get serious...
 
I don't understand the fuss either. I did order one however, because the button on my iPhone 4 (not 4S) is starting to act up, needs a very solid press. I could have bought the 4S for $200 a few weeks or months ago, or just wait for the 5 and get the newest one for the same price. I'll keep it until the time it has a problem and then get a new one again. I'll tell 'ya what these 1st world problems are getting to me.
 
I will stick with my $99 android phone which does just as much as iPhone5.....

There is actually something I heard from other eBayers about these sellers. There are actually some who create other eBay accounts to bid on their own items. This way, the price will go insanely high. Also, some of these sellers make these other accounts to buy their own items and to give themselves more feedback. Insane, yes. But it's true.
 
Couldn't have been genuine bidders - the potential buyers were probably the seller.
I'm guessing that's why the auction got removed.
