iPhone 15 is a major disappointment!!!

oh really
didn't even look much into it, what excatly was the disappointment? compraed to previous versions.
I heard that they swapped over to USB C and its like 1 gram lighter, thats really about it
just pre-ordered 2 for my parents lol
oh well, if they like it, i really don't care. Money is spent to keep my family happy.

They’re using usb 2 a 23 year old tech for charging, for the pro for fast charge just shell extra money. The camera nothing major, basically it’s IPhone 14 in a new. Package. I hope they like it, use that call poster and set Siri in their voice

the new action button looks nice, but other than that I guess there are no significant changes.

Docker is my tool of choice too. Especially when i need to test something fast from IDE. Just spin up dev container and you are good to go. Vagrant is ok too but i think that's eats more of HW resources. At least some tests I did showed more consumption by Vagrant than others.

Is that Docker-Compose, desktop you guys are using, the one that just uses yaml?

For me yes. Look for the special build for apple silicon.
Edit: Also, I prefer using docker compose because most of the projects I work on are pretty complex, and uses micro services. With docker compose you can easily setup internal docker communication between services (let’s say between db and backend) without exposing them to the world. You only expose the container you need to. Really handy!

yeah nothing surprised me anyways
phone innovation was pretty much dead since early 2010s
it's just either a bigger screen, a new screen technology, a light phone, a faster charger, or a better battery pack more or less
This is the same for androids too honestly.

well whatever, i'm sure they will like it :) !

Yeah. If need something more complex like @BlurryBit said you have to take docket-compose route or even docker swarm.

Docker desktop is enough to test existing containers or to spin up dev container based on existing image from your IDE

Real fun in playing with services comes with latest api version :D

I have 11 Pro - it does its job perfectly. No notifications are missed. No lags. Nothing to complaint about yet - and that's the reliability of iPhones.

I previously used Vivo V12, Redmi, and whatnot. In Android, getting notifications is a hit-or-miss game. Also, those died and started lagging in as little as 8 to 12 months of usage even with regular cache clearing. I guess the hardware is not good enough for long-term usage. And even if the hardware is good, updates kill it. My Vivo V12 was 27k INR. My iP11 was 96k INR. But 27k INR every year, vs. years of usage in iP is the difference. The calculation tallies, but my iP is still working fine.

Plus, when you go around with an iPhone, you get premium treatment from people in India. But they don't understand that both costs the same in long run as they have to change phones regularly.

So yes, I turned from an Android-power-user to an iPhone-fanatic. Without using it, you cannot understand the difference at all. That's all, and that's it.

if you are not a professional photographer or something, there is no need to a new iPhone.

I think the most important thing about Iphone is the number of years of system support. Android gives very few years of updates and using a room is not an option for those who use banking apps on their smartphone.

Professional photographers use professional cameras and not iPhone. iPhone is not reference in that field unless you are talking about advanced users that use iPhone for fast checking on manual settings. I haven’t seen any professional photographer doing wedding sets with neither IPhone nor Android regardless of device class.

What more did you expect rather than a upgrade in price and obviously a c-type port because the are planning to completely
remove the ports now.

Now apple will make more money from people buying USB C cables :weep:

Meh, you can reuse your existing cable. That is the whole point of it. If it is not compatible, they are gonna face some serious issues.

It's curious to see these threads pop up every time a new iPhone is released, but never about other brands, as if iPhones were an important topic. I guess even if you criticize and don't buy, they still got you.

iPhone is a sort of a big deal in marketing especially for people doing IG and TikTok and target US audiences

Do you think it will be worth upgrading from an iphone 12 pro max? They mentioned all day battery life which has got me interested for sure.

I also dont understand how people are excited to switch just because of USB C. Like how does that make a difference?
