Lately I've been doing some research about App Store and it's review/rating system. It wasn't purely academic interest - I tried to add some reviews to a single app (I wouldn't consider it spamming - just a few more). From 4 of them, 1 was visible ( it was the 2nd), but probably got deleted after a day or so (or after adding 3rd) - I can't see it anymore and the number of reviews decreased by a couple. I've got some questions and conclusions:
1. Does App Store monitors traffic from unique devices or locations? If yes, then spoofing both should do the trick, but I'm wondering if random values are enough? I tried it with the latest review and I can't see it yet so I guess it didn't work.
2. Does Apple ID registration number matters? I'm not sure because you need to provide a number once more for App Store registration, along with adress (but as far as I can tell, this part of data can be totally random, fake). Creating accounts with unique numbers isn't a problem, but I tried also to register them on one number - it was 1st and 2nd try and the 2nd review was actually published.
3. Does someone actually read those reviews (I don't think so) or it's just a way better bot? I know Apple's system is more sophisticated than Play Store's, but I'm not sure what kind of data they can actually check... For example - do they know if my Iphone was jailbroken - I believe they do, but is it such a big problem in that context? I know some games got instant jailbreak block, but it shouldn't be a thing here.
4. In a matter of IP - Google doesn't like VPN connections, what about Apple (I have a feeling they are more into security)?
5. Does uninstalling app matter (or things like time spend in app etc.), even after disconnecting Apple ID and App Store account?
I know it's a lot of question, some of them very specific, but I was able to find a lot of interesting discussions and information about other stuff I was researching in the past, so I'm willing to give it a try
