I havnt done any research,so I'm not sure if I should go with government bonds or buying stock in Romanian companies. Its been a while since I've invested money,since I'm more focus on making money from IM now.

I am not talking about Romania, but I 'll tell you what happens when everything is corrupt.

If you 're making a medium investment, corruption can be a factor that will push your investment forward.

If you are making a really big investment, you will most probably lose. Politicians will take their bribes to help you against bureaucracy. You will invest and after a few years of struggling, problems will start to rise bigtime. Politicians will be causing them to get more and more bribes. In my country, this is very common.

It's like every other country, once they get married, they get comfortable and slack off in the looks dept. It's an evolutionary thing that happens to all of us. However, the ratio of good looking single women to ugly single women is very high.

I can just use google.com but search in Romanian language,then use Google translate. Google translate is so nice,that its the reason I only know like 20 Romanian words and phrases and not the whole language. I'm thinking about opening up an investment account and do some minor trading on the Romanian market before jumping in with alot of money.

how I can say what I wanna say in decent words ... hmmm... my friend don't even try to think everything what you read in official newspapers / business reports everything what's connected with romania it's faked ! and censored by the government ! First of all , rosia montana story .... there is a region , on apuseni montains , firstly dated by archeological sited since stone age I think or so ... anyway ... since hundreds of years from there gold was extracted from this mountains ... is not a new thing is from forever like ...

Actually one of the reason for what roman empire , otoman empire , austro-hungary empire and virtually any damn military force from europe wanted to have control of this country it's romanian natural resources , not only the gold , there are hundreds of km squared of forest , hundreds of km squares of rich and well productive farms lands , rivers with fish , well climate for most of growing farms ; virtually anything what society need to grow , natural resources ...

In last 21-22 years , after the communism party was officially '' fired '' , in this country nothing good happens , I mean ... NOTHING ( whole economy what communism left us was stolen / sold for bargains ... or even left to self destroy over the time ) , there is no real infrastructure at all I mean , huge ridiculous taxes , nothing works like is supposed to do .

Romanian government don't wanna to have some ^% of energy to be green by 2020 , european union force us to go green , in order to access more european founds , witch means of course more money for large pockets from the folks from the government ... Actually romania have enough energy to consume , and we can even export it lol if we push a little the resources existent sources ...

Well about google translate , like half of the times maybe more is not working , not translating correctly from and to romanian language , why ? ... well not because there aren't good romanian translators what google can use to improve their service , actually few years back google opened first romanian office in 2008 or so ... there is no real interest to improve it since first of all the precent called before on this thread is actually young generation ( like 20+yrs - 35yrs .... ) actually active population , and most of them know/speak/write multiple languages ( english / french / spanish and so on .. ) myself on the school had to pass 2 different languages test in order to move on lol ... it's a common practice on romanian learning system kids on our schools even from kindergarden have english/french/german languages classes lol ....
And one more reason will be , the particular way how our grammatically rules are formed on the language ( romanian language have strong latin roots but with loads of french influence ) .... so our grammatically rules are pretty '' strange '' compared with english and other european languages ...

back to the topic , the romanian goverment bonds are like ... hmmm ...( seriously I make huge effort to express myself in decent manner ) ... it's like buying shares from a bunch of ponzi schemes ... romanian government have no damn profit at all in last 20+ years , not now , not last year , not since and because of global economy crisis , there wasn't any real profit ! we ( or our government ) spend money what they don't have , they issue this bonds just because they actually can do it and are covered by international laws , but they don't have any real conversion into real economy nor they don't bring any profit for anyone ...

Please note : There ( on this forum ) nor anywhere else where I write , and maybe other romanian folks write / read ... we aren't trying to put our country in bad light ; actually to be honest I don't give a damn penny about that impression , god knows I`m maybe more nationalist - maybe too extremist than should be , I love my place like anyone else I think ... even if I`m leaving aboard ...
Why peoples don't knows nothing about this country ? is easy to answer to this ... mostly because there is no lobby made in a decent manner , no advertising at all ... or very bad and poorly ones from time to time done by different folks from the government who bothered to actually produce something in exchange of their fees ( most of the time lobby campaigns founds finish in some large pockets with nothing in return lol ) ...

Why (me) and others speak not-so-nice about this place ? well this can be a selfish and personal point of view , but I seriously try to be impartial , anyway I can't change anything on this country , I even refuse to vote ( actually I voted on last 3 turns but I voted all the candidates and I invalidated my vote on public rune just like a peacefully protest ) ... There is nothing to be done atleast not from me personally , this country have no way to survive on modern european conjuncture , if there will not be done some very serious changes from political structures , military , justice , medical and so on , virtually everything must be changed and this will not be possible only after 20-30 years when next generations will grow and will be able to change something .

How do you explain all the expats that have moved to romania and are banking alot of money? I think that with any nation outsiders can see oppurtinies sometimes better then the people from that country.

The advetising for tourism is completly horrible,its like if someone was frozen in the early 1930's awoke in 2010 and was asked to write about Romania without being told about the past 80 years,espcially the past 10 years.

I wish rossetta stone had a romanian course,ive only been able to get a few older books and some tapes from pimsleur. And about 200GB of songs,tv shows and movies I have on one of my HD's.

Keinhabe is it really true that vat is exempt on business purchases,some people said that they had a friend that bought a car under his business and he didnt have to pay the vat.

hmmm expats moved to romania my friend let me tell you a small thing what maybe some of the peoples from there aren't like to read ... this expats what you know what moved in romania ( well at least timisoara city / timis county ) are itallian old workers , retired agents of illegal mobs clans ... this isn't only in this county , most of regions have different profiles for such investments ... of course if you have few millions black money best bet and best thing what you can do it's to go in romania , clean them , buy everything what you can , invest in anything and you will have profit with sure lol ....

Advertising in tourism ; HAH ... are you kidding with me ? ... what trourism ? when you have no roads/trains/airports /hotels / restaurants and everything connected with tourism industry ? ... how much places did you visited like tourist ? I think I saw more than half of europe big cities ... always I`m leaving to the airport with a big and happy smile on my face ! from everywhere ! when I`m going to romania back or I`m leaving from there , there is no damn smile on my face ... maybe i`m paranoid maybe I don't know too much about this .... BUT I know the shlt where I grow and try to survive like half of my life my friend ... There is no damn tourism ! romanian black sea littoral it's a complete damn joke , anyone who is fooled to go there will never come back ! I was in last 6-7 years I think everywhere where I can think off on europe , always if I have chance/need to go will go back glad where I was maybe will re-visit this spots sometime ...

What tourism to have in romania ? let me draw you a small picture let's say you are living on berlin and you wanna visit let's say vaslui city ...
1. airplain from berlin to bucharest ( easy done easy to go ... somehow cheap ) ... traveling time ? maybe 1 hour ... ( don't know exactly never was from berlin , but from dublin for example flight take exactly 2 hours and 35 minutes )
2. traveling from bucharest to vaslui city ? more than 3 hours ! with a decent car ! ... arriving on vaslui , NOTHING TO SEE per se there except cheap chicks ready to jump on your car and run away -=)) ... maybe you have a change to go to Iasi city ? there is true have some nice spots to visit and so on ... if by any chance you already pickup a nice slutty she can give you few visit days nicely around moldavia and so on ...

..... button line , tourism is NOT best bet right now for this ... if you wanna I can draw you on next post maybe how a trip to rosia montana will be ? we already spoke before about rosia montana :> you will be amazed what kind of adventure will be for you hahahha to travel there .....

Romania is full ( maybe hundreds of ) historical rich regions , great views , great natural conserved regions , excellent maybe for '' organic '' adventures and tourists ... but how much money can you make from a bunch of old folks who can come there to eat few days organic eggs ? seriously ...

About vat exempt things ... Romanian tax office ( equivalent of HMRC from uk / IRS from us .... I don't know others countries names ) exempt for tax , and deduct taxes for business related purchases ( actually is an european directive this I think ) not only in romania , everywhere on europe is same thing , for business purchases services and good you can deduct taxes ... now ... why romania is so good seen in the eyes of peoples who are interested , well there corruption is at level upon everyone imagination ! If I wanna deduct taxes on uk for example I never will do what I can do in romania ( well actually to be honest I was doing some things like this before lol is not so smart to write about this on public forum but if you wanna I can pm you with a funny deduction done some years ago ) ... thing is ... is true , the law's are pretty helpful for business proposes , thing is any legit business what you think off there , you will have to fight with the romanian government agents everywhere , with romanian workers , with romanian society in general , there is nothing like you know or to seems like to be similar with how things are on the place from where you come ...

i was thinking more about bamboo,player kristal glam etc to go as a tourist,not the old lame things like castles. i have a list of nice hotels and restuarants.

I am right there with you man...Investing in Eastern Europe is one of the smartest things that you can do right now if you have the money to spend. Do not listen to anyone who has crazy things to say because they have obviously not been there in the past couple of years. There are plenty of places that you can invest you money into their country and see a nice rate of return. Personally, I am waiting for things to die down in Greece before I start pouring in some of my extra cash. So far I have invested in a couple of pieces of land in Bulgaria...they do not allow foreigners to own anything so you have to create your own business there and it can own the place.

Anyways, I hope I have been helpful and keep it up. I do believe that you are on the right track as no one really on this thread truly understands that the United States is headed into the toilet right now and that smartest thing you can do for yourself is to start investing in other parts of the world..

PS...as long as you learn the cyrillic alphabet will be fine. I speak a lot of Russian which helps me a lot when doing business in Eastern Europe...the infrastructure is there and improving on a daily basis.

this is exactly like every person who leaves Romania because they can't do shit in their own country. there is a lot of money to be made working in Romania. Only if you think to open an outsourcing company for SEO and stuff like that you can make a lot of money because the competition is very low and there are more and more companies that come in Romania to open/expand a business etc etc
