Inventions stop... NOW!

Quick example: The snuggie was a multi million dollar idea. Someone put on a bathrobe backwards, came up with a name based off of another word (snuggle. in fact, I bet he hit the wrong key on the keyboard), and sold it as a new product. They saturated the hell outta that market and made a KILLING.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel, you just have to do it better than everybody else. In using that analogy, think about tire markets. What stands out in your mind as top brand? Is it because of marketing, or is their product actually as advertised and beating their competition?

If you get a chance, watch "Shark Tank". Interesting show about inventors vs. millionaires, and they determine the million dollar deals. Everything from renting baby toys to breathable bandaids to go over your nasal passages to prevent disease have been on the show, and have been huge successes.

If you're in the US, we've switched to a re-run culture. They take your past and sell it back to you, and call it "nostalgia" when in reality it's just brilliant from a marketing perspective.
