Inventions stop... NOW!

I just realized... There is very little left to invent for the everyday men... I think it all comes down to marketing.
Everything I had in my head as far as 'ideas' I already found someone doing.
I'm talking about over 20 ideas.

Weather it is an app, a cleansing system, food dehydration, gadget, hobby, chocolate, photography, nature... absolutly everything has been done.

So we are sorta left with 2 options really..

Option 1. Find something that is NOT in your area, but doing REALLY good in other areas, and copy the idea.
Option 2. Find an idea that is not in your area OR in your area, and market it a lot better to be the top dog.

Just because you can't think of anything, doesn't mean there aren't any good ideas. Million dollar ideas are created daily.

Exactly what jon said. Everyday I get new ideas

As time passes, and technology becomes more and more complex, one needs to have a higher level of intelligence to invent something that is truly desired. That doesn't mean everything has been invented.

There will always be new ideas. Sitting there thinking they are all gone is exactly why you won't think of new ones.

No one has invented a system for colonizing other planets yet, or a space hotel. I could go on and on.

Imagine if Henry Ford said that. Or Albert Einstein. Or Steve Jobs...

I met a guy that invented a collapsible stretcher. It was made of fabric & sticks and you assembled it into a stretcher, put someone in it and then carried them off. No one wanted it. He tried for years, and was a complete failure. Then one day, he made his very first sale.

To the US Army. They use them in helicopters now, where space and weight are at a premium. The US Army has a LOT of helicopters.
The guy told me this story in his run-down trailer home, on a shitty lot in the middle of nowhere.

So not true, I am raising my first child and I have a list of 8 baby products that need to be invented, the issue is that the industry is way too cut throat. These products would destroy the markets current offerings.

Our mental capacity isn't as such to create anything new any longer. We are dumbing the world down while very few have the intelligence to invent. Most people are too "small" in their thinking and are just looking for the easy "invention" which isn't an invention at all, rather a rebuild from common already existing items.

Inventing is creating something of nothing. Innovation is just advancing on systems already existing. People are only innovating these days.

Some food for thought though: All great people are told to F**K off at some time in their career, don't ever let it get you down. Take these quotes for example:

Also there are "repurpose" inventions, like the person that discovered that crazy-glue will hold large, gaping wounds together, and it can be used "on site" such as on a battelfield, car-wreck, etc.... The word "invention" covers more than just the "thing", but also how it's used. You could "invent" a backlinking strategy that defeats the Google Algorithm. As long as one entity attempts to control people, someone will invent a way to evade that control.

LMFAO. You think million dollar ideas come once out of every 20 ideas? Thomas Edison had to try over 1,000 times to create the light bulb. If 1 idea out of 20 was successful, then everyone on the planet would have a successful invention.

I don't make a habit of bashing people, so I will try and say this the kindest way I know how.

Some people are creative and can come up with great ideas, you are not one of them. You need to accept this, and find a new way to make your fortune.

On a recent episode of Shark Tank there was a guy with a lot of inventions and none of them have yet to make a profit. Some of his products I wanted to buy right then and there but the fact is, if you don't get it perfect and market it perfectly, mass merchants will never even call you back.

Improve on an existing invention or add two existing inventions together to make a new invention. This post reminded me of philosophy of the mind. If one was to be deprived of all senses ie. a brain in a vat what would our world consist of? Technically everything we need to create anything already exists in one form or another ie. colors, shapes, purposes, you just need to organize them in a maner that has never been seen before.

Even if there was very little new things to invent(which isn't true) a person can still reinvent an existing product. Like when the original iphone came out. That changed everything in the Cell Phone industry.

In another life I was a freelance new product designer. I worked mainly in
the fields of Novelty Candies and Adult Novelties ( such as Spencer Gifts
type adult humor gift products). I did quite well at it, and one thing I
learned is that today, it's more about innovation rather than invention.
In other words, you will make more money by being EVOLUTIONARY, not
REVOLUTIONARY. You don't need to re-invent the wheel - you just need
to look around you and see what can be done differently or what can
be improved upon, or what can be combined. There are millions of
opportunities to do that. Just pick a field (niche) that you already have
an interest in - or better yet, one that you are passionate about.
Then start analyzing things and let your mind run wild (and write
down EVERYTHING).

You can take any product and use a method that was created by Alex
Osborn called S.C.A.M.P.E.R. It is sort of an idea checklist that allows
you to pick any item and just ask certain questions, and before you
know it, you will start coming up with new product ideas. It's very
cool and relatively few people know about it. It's kept under wraps
by most inventors who know about it, but I want you to succeed,
so I will share these methods with you.

I'll tell you what: Below, you can download a zip file containing several
little ebooks I got from a blackhat Google search. Included are a few
books which show you the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. method as well as some
other creative techniques.

If you use these materials and DON'T come up with a flood of new
product ideas, then you are probably brain dead!
