Hello,

I am currently writing the content of my new e-book, but what program (MAC/PC) can I use to create an interactive e-book that can include videos, mp3's or any type of self-made widgets?

Flipbook should do what you require.

If you want to go heavy duty then InDesign is probably THE publisher's tool. It's like photoshop does for photos, indesign does for ebooks.

Bart is right InDesign is a great tool, you can get some real quality results.

It use to be a very cool software for making interactive ebooks, point-n-click games, and even websites. Present versions probably can do even more.
