Intentions behind giveaway on BHW

I have seen this so many times, people do some sort of giveaways telling pr links asking for urls, don't you think this will expose the niche you are in and they will scan everything you are doing with your site (mainly backlinks info coz they know that you have good knowledge about backlinks n you will choose carefully and they can easily find best sources from you).

It is good that people are giving away some thing that they have in abundance to those who don't but it must be regulated because there is no news whether the giveaway is closed or not, when i tried to receive some n there is no news after that n that makes me feel that it is the most easy way to find what others are doing because in this way the person will get everything readymade.

I received giveaway through email giving me keywords and he made clever pm to receive itrader points.

his giveaway was bullshit. Complete bullshit. his keyword had millions of results and shopping sites were on top results mostly.

I hope that some change may come in these types of thread.

i have seen some give away scams where the giver will collect your site information and after a few weeks you will get a threatening message that they will do negative seo if a 'ransom' is not paid...

A freebie here has the stipulation that one cannot ask for an email. If you do come across that you can ignore it and not participate or you can report the post if you like but you do not have to share your email for a freebie on BHW.

If someone actually have the time to keep checking other peoples websites all day, you dont need to worry because they wont have the time/knowledge to build successful websites anyways.
