Hey, so apparently Instagram is removing Likes from posts. How is this gonna affect accounts in terms of growth? What do you guys think?

They won't do it. They are testing. Imagine IG without likes. How would people know what is popular?

Their results will show a drop in engagements and IG use time. Who ever came up with this silly idea at IG needs to be fired.

I think the likes are getting removed due to banhammers - more bots get banned, along with the likes they made, no?

I also think they won't do it, because as far as I can see people really don't like this idea (regular people not just influencers).

But I think IG would like to keep this feature to make more money. With influencer marketing, IG is leaving a lot of money on the table. With hidden likes, I suspect fewer people will pay influencers for promos, which means more ad revenue for IG.

Also if they implement this permanently, comments are going to become new likes (since the number of comments will be visible) which means everyone will start chasing comments, and with more comments IG gets people staying in the app for longer periods of time.

Uhm...no? With influencer marketing the buyers don't give a **** about likes, they just want as many people as possible seeing their product. I've sold hundreds of shoutouts and trust me comments won't become the "new likes" the post insights will be all that matters, as it always has.

It's applied already on several country. I think it's a good move to slap instaposer.

they might try a new engaging factor. But for sure they will just try this but wont implement it. Engaging factor will go for a toss

First, huomenta! I'm heading to Finland next month. I'm very excited to see your country.

Secondly, likes have been removed in Canada... hasn't made much difference

Hope they do, no need to buy likes from SMM panels anymore. Plus buyers would be unable to distinguish between an established store and a new store which makes it cheaper to acquire social proof as you only have to get followers and some comments.

It looks like IG is getting red of likes. With the test, Instagram plans to remove the total number of likes from photos and videos on that show up on the main feed, profiles and permalink pages. Only the account user will be able to see the number of likes a post receives.

I have noticed, from yesterday, a drop in 30% of my likes from my latest posts. Does this mean that people who have the latest update couldn't even like a photo?

I think that's a very big mistake from Instagram , because as far as I see people really don't like this idea. besides, it can hurt the power of influence's and make them change their vision on Instagram.

lets think wisely if instagram removed the likes what will happen yes they will turn off selling likes services but many more people will buy followers just to have big number of followers no matter they will engagement or not because no body can see it, so i believe instagram may do it but it will be really stupid move

If they start removing likes at a wide scale, a lot of influencers would definitely be affected and you can see who are the real influencers (who grew their followers organically) and of course... the fake ones!

Yes, you can still receive likes on your posts. The difference is that you will be the only one who can see the number of likes on that post, everyone else won’t be able to see it

Brands now always asks for insights before they pay (a year ago not so much) and you HAVE to have a business profile. As far as influencers go I always go by the comments anyway to figure out "truth" behind their engagement. Removing likes won't affect influencers much at all. It'll just make the not so "big" ones buy followers and then look dumb when a brand asks for their insights and audience breakdown.

Instagram is still "testing" removing likes .it hasn't permanently happened yet.....Just tests.

Instagram (Facebook) is stupid for not taking advantage of influencer marketing instead of just trying to hinder it. If Instagram offered verified statistics and payment through Facebook Ad Manager, as well as allowed influencers to set their own rates, and get paid Google AdSense style, they’d make bank.

i think it is good ...
that is people dont look at your likes.
that need to look on your content
