As long as they haven't enabled 2FA you should be fine. Even with 2FA recovery is possible, yet pretty harder.
Here's how you recover your account:
Go to the basic login page, click on "Forgot your login details? Get help logging in.".
Once you click on that, enter the username of your account as it is now. If the hacker changed the username, make sure to use the new one.
When you write that down, click on "Need more help?" at the very bottom of the page. Everything after that will be self-explanatory.
TIP: Try using a device that the account has been used on before.

PS This method is almost instant, sends you an e-mail to the previous e-mail that was used (this means yours) as long as everything goes well. It doesn't reach out to a rep, it's simply a quick recovery method.

Nothing worrying about it sir. You just need to Contact Help Center which can closely help you regarding your account issue. It happens through Phishing Pages so Don't put your credentials everywhere on the internet.

Just try to connect with instagram support center. You can prove its your Account. Nobody can hack it again.

Instagram support though takes time, but that is the only point where you will get your doubts and problems cleared

There is a 1% chance Instagram will even skim through your ticket support. Your account is as good as gone. I hope that's lesson learned.

Hello Guys.... I have observed this issue has been posted over and over again... Well my account was hacked like 2 weeks ago.. Everything was changed... Phone number, Email, Username, 2FA... I tried to fill all the support forms, Chat with IG support, But my account was still hacked... So i dig lil deeper on Youtube and found this solution

If you have first mail of account or if you have a photo on the account you can take it back. You should contact with instagram support
