Instagram not sending code to access account

Hey BHW. I’m having an issue with Instagram. I was using an app to follow and unfollow accounts. Instagram flagged my account and blocked me from accessing it. They’re sending me a pop up and says the account has temporarily been locked and they need to send me a code. I’ve been trying to get them to send me a code for months and they haven’t sent anything. I was able to change my password using the facial recognition, but they still won’t send me the code. The email is correct, it’s a yahoo email. Tried from different devices, tried a VPN and nothing. At this point I just need the account deleted from the platform. I put in an impersonation complaint and sent them pictures of me holding my ID to no response.. I have since created a new account with the a similar username just a _ at the end of it....so I get a lot of people still tagging my old account that I have no access to. Can anybody help? Either get access to the account or simply just getting deleted from the platform?

Additional info - I have no phone number linked to the account.

There is no support to reach out to. Ask 5-10 of your friends to report your account. That might ban it.

This may look obvious, but I would avoid using those tools, do it manually, it is hard, but safe

You can no longer recover flagged accounts. For everyone's knowledge, it's best not to follow and unfollow multiple accounts in one day. Flagging also happens when you reply to several comments on posts even if it's just to say thank you.

I had that problem, just wait it out try again in a few days thats what i did.

Thank you. That’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve had 100s of people report it and it’s still not off the platform

I'm afraid that account is gone forever. You have to open a new one at this point.

Instagram has been really difficult to deal with lately in getting back blocked/suspended accounts.

I hope it wasn't too big and I would suggest investing your time in starting a new one rather than just trying to recover the old one as it might be really difficult.
