Instagram -Is building and selling accounts profitable? Worth it?

I am pretty new to this and am pondering ways to monetize eventually (like 6 months from now). I AM NOT SELLING AN ACCOUNT, DON'T ASK! Essentially I am wondering is it worth it to build an account up to say 50k followers and then sell or is it better to slowly monetize that account through other means (ex:shoutouts)? I cant find any specific info an how much a large account is worth if it has a good following. Some say lots like $1000 for 50k while others say like $40. I have no idea why there is such a major difference in opinions hahaha.

Can someone try to give me an example of what a large account could potentially sell for?
Long term is selling shutouts fairly profitable if you have a good niche?

What are your thoughts on this: Grow to sell or Grow to slowly profit?

That is true! But if it takes me many months to build it, is the profit from selling actually worth the time?

Grow a small network of instagram pages in a specific niche, then start new pages in the same niche and shoutout those with your already grown network. Sell and repeat. Profit.

I wouldn't think so.

Considering it takes roughly 3-5 months to get 50k followers and to sell it for $500-1500.
Id rather keep and monetize it and make like $xxx/month with it

Price is low or high depends on quality traffic from your account and importance is you meet buyer who is really need it. You will have a good deal for your account.
