I don't see why the engagement would fall. It's real people who will visit your main instagram and if these people follow you, it's that they are interested in your content. It's like any other person who discovers you via hashtags or others.
But I specify that I do not do this person so my opinion is not objective

You are so wrong dude. Have no logic at all. I've enough proof that this strategy do all the opposite. It INCREASE the engagement rate. People using this strategy have between 5-20% eng. rate which is very good.

How about to create a fake celeb account posting all the stuff the main does and fan pages linked to this fake account?
And using also the fake main to comment in fan pages not yours?

I have 5 fanpages set up and each fanpage only brings 8 followers even though I follow 500.
My main page has good content in fashion and fitness niche im a guy.
Can you give me some tips?

So: I let those fan pages create manually on phone (Outsourcing)
1 acc - 1 proxy (if you have good proxy provider then you can go 2 accs)
You can buy accounts, but i don't recommend it, the real owner can claim those accounts back. ( i save my time and let them create)
Warm up - let them for week stay or minimum actions per account, then start slowly increasing.
This is game with time & patience

Try to retarget your pages, where you take followers from.
i don't know any more informations so i can baerly help you.
But 8 people multiple 5 = 40 new active, who are interested in your niche people are great since you have just began.
(you are using only 5 pages which is not that much, plus this strategy needs a time)
Remember rather have 1k true fans who are willing to follow you everywhere, than has over 10k people who are unactive.

give them value. For example: You have a personal page in the triathlon (sports) niche. You create 100 accs in total. 50 fan pages & 50 ''triathlon'' pages that lead directly to your profile. If you give them value.. for example triathlon tips. How to prevent injuries, how to improve your times & so on, people are interested in those things. You write in your bio. Follow @yourmainaccount for FREE triathlon tips! People will love it.
