Instagram Creator Account - What's your take on it?

A few weeks ago I switched to a creator account. I noticed more views on the stories, and about the same engagement on posts.

But what really stunned me is that since I switched, all hashtags are disabled. I can't even see my own posts when I click on the hashtags.

I used to get 20 - 30% of 'likers" not following me, now it's 1 - 2%.

So this might be a dysfunction. If it doesn't stop I'll switch back to the business account.

Have you noticed weird things with a creator account?

I switched to creator about two months ago - nothing changed for me except that I started getting more comments which is unrelated, I guess.

As a heisenberg you should be used to weird
Besides the joke, I am pretty sure that even at IG they don't completely know what they are doing.
If the change didn't work, why change what was working?

Actually, my business account wasn't working, Lilith.

hashtags started working again.

Creator account has no api access, so IG knows that you are not automating or using apps that they don't want. I guess this gives you a certain bill of clean health.

How do you know there's no API Access?

I've switched several accounts to creator when it first came out and I haven't noticed anything weird (same engagement rate, same growth basically). But a few days ago, I've switched one of my new accounts that just passed 10k mark (growing around 450 daily all organic) and the same thing has happened to me, almost 0 reach from # and my engagement rate went down plus I want from growing 450 followers per day to 150-200. It was like that for several days, and then one post got 10% reach from hashtags, then another 15% and now yesterday I had a post that got 95% reach from hashtags and growth of over 3k followers. Pretty weird if you ask me. I have several more accounts that I want to switch from personal, so it will be interesting to see if the same thing will happen.

Edit: I'm also wondering how do you know that about the API?
