Hello just a heads up if you own any OG usernames or big accounts etc.

I own a few OG usernames on Instagram and was wondering why I was getting spammed password reset on all the accounts.

Turns out there was a bug where if you had a French VPN on and tried to password reset any account on the mobile app you would get access to see any emails or numbers linked to that account. To my knowledge it’s been patched.

Yes but even if it’s patched, I’d still rotate passwords, enable app-based 2FA not SMS, remove any old recovery emails, and lock down username change settings

that's crazy. so everything is fine for you now?
 
its little confusing.
you are saying if we use french vpn or any vpn but french location then we ll get emails from instagram account to reset password?
are you sure you are getting those email from instagram not phishing attact?

I dont have Instagram anymore so…

I’m safe!
 
It got looked into. There were other users that reported something similar. It should be fine now.
