Hello friends, Im working with instagram pages with reused content (adult and other stuff). Im still struggling to maintain a method in the long term that makes the video and sound unique.

I have 2-3 video sources for videos (not an adult niche) that are used by few people who are doing the exact same hustle as me and we are all fighting to be the first to upload the video or make it unique.

I got a bit confused a few days ago because I had a video that I uploaded on one of my pages about 15 days ago without any edits or repurposing. When I checked the original audio button after uploading, I saw that the audio from the video was already used on 5-6 other pages. So, basically Im not the first person who uploaded the exact same video.

What happened next is, while scrolling through instagram reels on my personal phone, I came across the same video uploaded 5 days ago (keep in mind I uploaded it 15 days ago) by some random guy who doesnt even upload reels or any content regularly (just personal life photos with kids etc.) and he got 5m views and 300k likes. It drew my attention to examine his video a little bit and I found out that there is no audio or video changes are made, but there is no original audio button on his reel.

How is this possible and how did he do that? I tried to find an option on Instagram to not list the audio in the instagram audio library but there is none. If anyone knows anything about this, it would be great to share some info! Thanks!

Just to mention again, the guy is a random guy hes not even monetizing his page in any way, so Im a little bit confused how he managed to remove the audio button from his reel in the bottom right corner.

Im 100% sure he didnt repurpose the video or make any changes to it. Is it from instagrams side or what the hell?

Hi, I noticed that recently too. Have you figured out how to fix it? Do you think it affects views in any way? How do you usually make your content unique? I'd really appreciate your response.

I’ve seen this happen a few times and it’s super confusing at first. From what I’ve learned, it’s usually not about the creator doing anything “hidden”. Instagram sometimes automatically removes the original audio link from certain uploads. This can happen if:
  1. The video was uploaded from an external source instead of directly recorded in the app (like from your phone’s gallery). Instagram sometimes doesn’t register that as “original audio.”
  2. Instagram’s algorithm detects the audio as already widely used and may not attach the original audio link for that upload. This often happens with reused or viral clips.
  3. Certain account types or new users might automatically have the audio button hidden — it’s not fully transparent why.
Basically, it’s usually Instagram’s system, not the user manipulating anything. The fact that he got massive views is more about timing, luck, and the algorithm picking that video for Explore/Reels, not the audio visibility.

If you want to “hide” the audio link for your own videos, the safest way is to edit the audio slightly (pitch shift, trim, or layer something extra) before uploading. That makes Instagram see it as a new “original audio” and gives you the advantage of being the first creator.

It’s frustrating, but honestly, a little creative tweak goes a long way to stand out in this kind of niche.

bro stop farming your account with ai answers, i asked ai before i even made this post and i got answers like this

Sometimes IG just doesnt register audio as original if it thinks its reused or from library so no button shows. Also small edits in export or metadata can break audio tag even if video looks same. Its more random detection than some trick honestly

Totally get where you're coming from. Honestly, I didn't mean to come off like I was reading from a textbook—just geeking out a bit on the stuff I've been digging into lately.
SEO is one of those things where the theory is one thing, but the "in the trenches" reality is usually way messier. I’m still very much in the learning phase myself, so I’m genuinely curious about how people handle the "dark arts" of dealing with negative results.
Have you ever actually had to bury something in the SERPs? I'd love to hear a real-world win (or even a spectacular fail) if you've got one. What actually moved the needle for you?
