instagram asks for my phone number then a confirmation code, and error happens when I put the code

as the title says, they ask me for my phone number, when I enter it, they send me a code, i enter it correctly, but it show me error and forbid me from entering to the account.
does anyone knows how to fix this?

I don't know if it helps but you could try to log in by using incognito mode and switch wifi to celular data

Most likely it's happens in case of some serious violations of terms of platform usage.

Have you contacted IGs support? This should be the first move in order to resolve this problem.

I have not done anything, the account is old account but I logged back to it
 
Usually means the number's already linked to another account or your IP looks suspicious. Switch between WiFi and mobile data, then request the code again.

If it still fails, try email verification instead of SMS, or use a different number. The account itself is likely flagged.
 
if you have not had a violation before, just check if the app is updated. Could be as simple as outdated app or phone OS. Do some updates and restart the phone to see if it fixes
 
You are going to get Face Verification right after this. You can recover the account; but after you verify your identity. What I can tell you right now is; to avoid this; you will need to do a solid warmup process. When accounts are warmed up correctly; getting messages like that are very infrequent.

Maybe IG suspects there's something unusual about your account. I'd check whether the IP you're using has any issues. In many cases, not receiving or being unable to enter the verification code is caused by a low-quality proxy. If you're just using your normal home IP, then it could simply be an IG bug. I'd wait for a couple of days and then try logging in again to see if it works.
 
Try using a different browser or the IG app, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, clear your cache and wait 24–48 hours before trying again. If it still doesn't work, the account may be temporarily restricted and you'll need to contact IG support or wait for the restriction to expire.
