Yeah, I'm a little worry about 3rd party apps and I don't think that instagram will be happy with that.
So I think, the best way is again to unfollow manually slowly.

that was 150 per day and 60 per hour. Not sure if that changed.

The daily limit varies depending on age of account, type of historical activity on your account, ratio of followers to those who follow you back, and other things. Technically you can currently do up to 200 unfollows a day for an established account, but I would aim for a lower number, spread out throughout the day, and interject with other activities and not just straight unfollows.
