Insane domain but no SEO knowledge, help me out

install google analytics. check which pages are still getting views. create those pages in the website.

Then create sub pages related to those pages, you will be able to rank the website + new pages too.

I am just not sure even if i find "links" backlinks or whatever, how to i know if they wouldnt make the site worse , like is there a possibility that i could fu*k things up? I've been trying to read and the SEO on-site should be decently done, its just the links i dont understand that much. If i buy links does it mean that google will pretty much push me higher on the pages simply?
