This is my first time starting a thread on BHW. If it is in the wrong room please let me know.
So, I had a little scare today. I may be paranoid or just dumb, but I wanted to get some opinions.
I launched a site about 3 days ago. The site allows people to watch copy written content, not Hollywood movies, its just DVD Video magazine content.
I haven't had time to promote the site yet. With one post on social media, I received about 500 users in 3 days. On this site I have analytics, and today I noticed that one of the networks that accessed my site was the California Superior Court. After I saw that I started sweating.
My understanding of DMCA is that a third party for the content owner will attempt to contact the site to have the content removed. So I cant stop wondering why the California Superior Court would be on my site.
My thoughts: Maybe someone while at court, saw it on social media and visited the site.
My other thought: Maybe someone visited the site while preparing legal action.
Your thoughts?
