Anyone else finding this?

I used to be able to get a site indexed in a couple of hours, at most about 24 or so. Now I have a couple of new sites that Google has already visited (according to stats) but is refusing to add to its index. This is a very recent thing - the last new site I launched was a month ago.

Ive tried a few different methods but no joy.

Anyone else having problems?

Is the niche competitive?

Is the keyword your targeting competitive?

How many backlinks do the the top sites for your keyword have?

What's their PR?

Are they authority sites?

All these play a role in when and where your sites get indexed and ranked.

Same here, I have a site going on thee weeks...they definite changed something..

Is it a static site or a blog?

I recently launched some static sites which I had not done in a long time
and had the same issue. It took about two and a half weeks to get indexed
and I had some back links from Ezine and GoArticles.

After not getting indexed with the articles I set up some profile back links
and pinged them and also created an RSS feed and submitted, pinged
and bookmarked the profile pages as well as bookmarking my index and
inner pages.

It's only after all of that when I seemed to grab Google's attention.

It does seem like it's getting harder and taking longer now.

Also - the number of pages indexed on a given site seems to be falling.
4000 page product site - pr3 - only 40 clicks a day 7 months down the line.
Crap

No it's not competitive. I'm not really competing against anything. I'm actually trying to rank for the name of my site which nobody else is optimising for.

Btw, I'm doing this with four websites and all four are not being indexed. I have tried a number of different techniques from sitemap submission, rss submission, backlinks obviously, social bookmarking etc.

Google has been on each of the sites, I know that for sure - theyre just not indexing the websites. I'm going to try press release submission on a new site tomorrow to see what that does.

Yes I just now got indexed today after about 3 weeks for my static site.

I was going to post on this topic. I tried the megafoo idea posted by a "blackhatter" a few weeks ago (great idea for backlinks). Did all of the usual pinging, links in 2.0 sites, etc. Usually would be indexed within a few days. I've tried everything, it has been weeks, with no luck. Something is up.

Anyone have any ideas??

FYI, I made a wordpress site last week and got indexed in 24-48 hours

Indexing seems rather slow for me lately. Like a lot harder than it was over the summer.

So basically what people are saying is, static sites are taking long to get indexed, but blogs and such are getting indexed like normal?

Perhaps.. I cant say since I only work with wordpress blogs and always get indexed withing the same day. [Social Bookmarking, Pings & Web Statistic Submissions]

everythings fine from my side :)

I can concur with this thread, I made a static .info site, original content, keyword has about 200 results not really competitive... still hasn't indexed although I haven't started backlinks, I submitted sitmap but still nothing... anyone have any ideas?

seems Google feel in love with Wordpress, that's pretty common knowledge now... And this would be a classic case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em"... much rather give G what they want then go against the grain.

Same problem here...used to take around a day to get indexed, but know it seems like it take 1-2 weeks in my case.
