index problems identi.ca not working?

Can anyone help me, I tried identi.ca even with proxy and new email,still it doesn't show up on main page of identi.ca,please help.

U got me wrong,when someone registers on identi.ca and posts a message it shows up on the main page,better for google indexing,but somehow even with a new account it isn't,and keep ur sarcasm to yourself if you can't help.

Weird... And so one nice trick will not work now. I knew they will make it nofollow anytime

I'm not sure why posts you're making aren't showing up on the public timeline when you make a post. But even if it did it wouldn't help that much even for indexing.

Your misunderstanding what the power of identi.ca was. When it was working, you're profile page would recieve link juice from all the subcriptions you made, the subscribers to you, and the groups you joined. Once you had enough of those links it gave your profile page a higher pr. Then when you put your website into the homepage box, you had a high pr backlink for your website.

Posting links in your messages has very little effect if any. Anything you post will show on the public timeline (main page) for a short time but will scroll off the page and get buried so fast it isn't giving you any kind of help for indexing or pr at all.

All the noobs that saw the post by VitaVee didn't understand the point of it and started posting their links in the message box. Then just for good measure they PROUDLY used automation tools to really pump out the POINTLESS spam, and RUINED THE METHOD for everyone else. So many of these clueless people jumped onto identi.ca and started sending spam messages with their links, it really pissed off people actually using identi.ca for communication. To discourage the spammers identi.ca changed all the links between profile pages to nofollow. And so the method no longer works at all now.

The homepage you put into your profile is still a d0f0llow link, but the profile has no pr advantage anymore. Any links you put in your messages are d0f0llow, but will scroll off the main page so fast it might has well have never been there. All the other links between profiles and groups are set to nofollow, so no more link juice and no pr being passed.

This was a great method that is dead now because of people jumping on it without understanding how to use it. You can thank the noobie spammers for killing it. That's why alot of the bh automation tools are dangerous when people use a method properly.

lol you've posted that exact same message at least 20 times in this thread. Plenty of people already said that it isn't working (at present, or permanently - I dunno).

It could be that when you post your link identi.ca was peak active which means your link gets to the second page pretty fast. Did you have a look at the timeline of other poeple msg?

You're still not getting it. Getting indexed is about the easiest thing to do. Showing up on the main page of identi.ca isn't going to help you get indexed any better than just submitting your site to google.

I have a low traffic, pr0 blog that still gets crawled about 20-30 times a day. When I start a new domain I post a link on my blog and the new site is indexed almost instantly, and I don't have to spam anything.

Even if you don't want to get a new domain to set up a blog just for that, go set up a blogger account and make one there. It won't give you any pr, but it will get your sites indexed almost instantly every time. It will be a lot more effective, and you won't have to kill any more powerful methods by doing it. In fact if you build up any pr for that site then it will be even better than the identi.ca method is now.


The identi.ca method was all about getting a good high pr backlink to your site, and to do it didn't require any message spamming at all.

You're misunderstanding of what identi.ca was good for multiplied by all the other marketers that shared your misunderstanding is what killed the method.

Instead of wasting your time trying to figure out how to get your link spam to show up on the identi.ca main page, why don't you go try other methods that are still working. If you're going to just ignore the advice people give you, then what is the point of asking for help.

I did try the identi.ca method for pr,but also used it for indexing,only posted 1 url/day,also i did get them indexed by bookmarking,i just wanted the identi.ca thing to work,but i guess it won't.

I hope you do understand how annoying that can be to a site owner, and users of a forum though. It might seem like nothing much to you, but then multiply it by thousands of people doing the same thing. Just think about it.

Had you just put your link on your profile page, and then posted one twitter type message a day like "hi everyone, just getting ready to head out to the store", or "darn I'm so bored right now, I'm doing my wash and just kicking it on the couch in just my panties, hehehe", or "I can't believe the prime minister is doing blah,blah", none of the real users would think anything of it. You might have actually even started getting more followers.

When the method was posted it was really simple instructions,
1 - open an account and fill out the profile info, make it look real and DON'T ADD YOUR LINK YET, leave the homepage blank. (this made you seem legit)
2 - add all the subscriptions and groups listed
(this connected you to high pr backlinks)
3 - just post a message saying hi, don't put a link in the message.
(this connected your profile page to the main page)
4 - then after doing steps 2 and 3 ADD YOUR LINK TO THE HOMEPAGE in your profile info. (this finished getting you the high pr backlink)

There was no twist needed, no reason to spam anything. The result of following the method was an increase in your pr. How could it possibly have seemed like a good idea to risk killing such a simple and powerful way of raising your pr, just to get a site indexed fast by spamming it.

Before jumping on a method and trying to give it a twist, it is best for people to understand the method first.

So one account to use the method correctly, and a seperate account to help kill the method. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is your fault the method was killed, it was all the accounts combined that were using it incorrectly.

The first method of keeping a low profile and just getting the link juice through your profile page could have continued indefinately without ever raising a red flag and never getting saturated. If anything it was helping make identi.ca even more successful.

The second method of posting links in the messages to get them to show on the main page was very high profile, even if you only posted once a day it comes across as spam. When combined with everyone else doing the same thing, it gauranteed that identi.ca would take steps to fight it.

The sad thing is that the second method wasn't even that great of a method to get pages indexed. There are many methods for doing that which are much better.

The first method on the other hand was exceptionally great for not only raising pr, but also for getting the indexing like you wanted.

Unfortunately by people jumping all over identi.ca to use the second method, it guaranteed the first method would be killed also. Just really shortsighted by a lot of people, so now neither method works for anyone.

Not really. If the jump in subscribers hadn't also been accompanied by spam messages, noone would have cared. If the identi.ca users were getting more and more subscribers that were just saying hi and then lurking, the users would have just thought they were becoming more popular.

All anyone had to do was follow some of the conversations while the spam rush was happening. There was a lot of discussion between the users about it at the time. The complaints were ALL about the spam, noone cared about it other than that. Any twitter type group LOVES getting followers, it's like a popularity contest and is part of why they join those groups. But they want real followers, not people that are going to clog the system with spam.

The fact that even after the method was killed, there are people that still don't get what went wrong is amazing. This is why a lot of the very best methods don't get shared on here. Until someone has already gotten the usefulness out of their method, its a scary thought to tell others about it and have it ruined.
