I currently do the following to squeeze the most out of my day :

1. Alternate between sitting and standing every hour.
2. Take a 5 min break every 30 mins.
3. Use noise cancelling headphones to drown out any distractions.
4. Use a whiteboard to jot down ideas as I get bored with a pen and paper.
5. Try to start the day with some weight training.
6. Eat every 4-5 hours.

I also take caffeine pills as I hate drinking coffee. Is there something else you’re doing to get that extra bit of focus?

Maybe a food supplement or a different style of doing one of the things listed above?

PS. If you’re going to suggest a supplement, please make it OTC. Not going to risk Addy :p

Ideally, I’d be aiming at 10-12 hour stretches of work.

Go into every task assuming you're gonna do it for a maximum of 5 minutes.
This kills procrastination as your brain doesn't actually mind doing the task, it hates the idea of starting a task that may take a lot of effort.

All that stuff is quite similar to what I do, but I'd add take a walk to get some fresh air somewhere in there. I have a dog so it's easier as he helps remind me to go (he cries at the door when he needs to go toilet :))

This is a great tip! I can notice right away how different I feel about my next task. Thanks.

Hahah do you do what I do and stand behind your chair to make executive decisions! :D

That's what I do also, at least most of the things you mentioned...

Honestly, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the "I'm getting old" moment but I don't feel so fresh like I use to.

I believe that the years spent next to the computer in one state slowly but surely feel on the body, every few months I try to add something new but without success.

Of course, not only from sitting but the topic is quite deep, there are also problems and stress that we face every day...

So, everything that helped me before is slowly disappearing.

Also, my problem has always been that I don't know how to "slow down", a couple of times I've put myself in a situation where I'm really sick, and in most cases, I push on even though I shouldn't do it at all, so stupid...

It’s one of those things that you can’t learn or force yourself to do differently, to reduce work, to simply satisfy your body and brain, no, I’m going until I cross the line.

If you're not doing that already then ice-cold showers in the morning
This stuff is stronger than any amount of coffee

(at least for me)

Personally I use that podimoro method and project management tools these days to increase my focus and productivity
Interesting. I’ve been unknowingly doing a variant of it without knowing what it’s been called. Do you use a dedicated timer for it or just know intuitively know when the 25 minutes are up?

True, I forgot to mention that in the OP. I’ve a pup too and I try to play with him whenever I feel burnt out. Definitely a good idea to refresh your mind. :)

Sir, do you have a camera in my room?
Yeah, I tend to get dramatic with that stuff haha.
you should add a HIIT or running session after the gym,
it's challenging, yet a game-changer, it will make you full like a rocket for all the day
I’ve tried HIIT before and it has always tired me out. Maybe I don’t have the stamina for it but I’m sure willing to keep at it if it’ll eventually give me a mental boost?

Yeah, burn out is definitely an issue for me and I think it’s the same for a lot of us. I know what you mean.

Yes, definitely a good idea. It’s a bitch at first and takes some time getting used to haha.

at the start it is,
just start small, don't overdo, make small progress over time,
you can always start with a medium running speed slowly increasing over time,
add a new challenge/goal each week, whenever you feel like you used and the last one become kinda much easier

Do you have a standing desk?
Can you give links to examples of some good standing desks?
No, sorry. My desk is pretty high by itself so I don’t have to lean too forward when I’m standing. I doubt it’s available online though.

I could message you the link of a product that has been recommended to me before, if you’d like?

I may start doing this since I don't like coffee.

But .. you didn't tell them how many grams of coc u do per day:eek:. Everybody here is posting his method but they always don't tell the truth..

Coc, dear?
Btw, I should mention that I take two pills over 12 hours (each pill with approx 220 mg of caffeine).
7. You need designated fap hours
8. Good Motivation music to keep you pumped
9. Block BHW
10. Block me aswell
11. I personally found giving myself a break every hour to make myself a fruit smoothe boosts my next hour's focus levels
7,9,10 are impossible dear. I’m on a no fap journey.
8. Do you have any recommendations? I tend to get distracted easily when I’m listening to music.

11. Sounds like a good idea. Definitely going to incorporate that into my routine.

Replace caffeine with apples or fresh fruit.
In 4 to 5 days, after the body forgets about the drug, you will get an energy boost.

IF energy is what you're looking for, eat fresh fruit on an empty stomach, before any other food will be ingested. In a week, you will gain a lot of energy from this.

Learn to breathe properly and practice it 3 to 5 times a day. A golden rule is inhale for X seconds, hold for 4 x, exhale for 3x. There's not a vitamin in the world that will give you the boost proper breathing does.

Limiting protein intake is another way to get some energy boost. It's quite visible after 3-4 days of reducing protein. I'm not talking about going began or any of that crap, just eat less protein. Keep it UNDER 0.8 grams per KG of weight. Digesting protein actually robs you of energy.

IF you are working out, or doing HIIT as someone stated, it's important to do it the right way.
A lot of people train anaerobically, as in, without oxygen in the cells. This means training until you can barely breathe. That will rob you of so much energy. You need to train aerobically ( WITH oxygen ). A simple way of doing this is checking if you can talk during your workout without any problems.

If you drink milk, try to stop. There;s nothing wrong with milk per se, but it sticks to your small intestine and hinders hydration. Your body works harder to clean you up.

Sugars phuck you up too. This includes flour, especially if you go overboard with it.

Exercise your face while working. Toning face muscles will aid in better oxygenation to your brain. Doing X / O with your face is the perfect way. 5-6 sets of 15-20 reps will get the blood flowing just right.

It's what I've been doing over the last few years after reading books which address energy levels. It works. You won't be able to sleep more than 7 hours, because you will be full of energy.

-Meditate
-Hiit workouts
-Cold shower
-healthy food
-friends
-walks alone or with a dog
-breaks
-sometimes good therapy is a driving around with your car.
-always do micro service like task by task
-chill music

NO FAP needs to be practiced the right way.
Masturbating, in its self, is not the fault for foggy brain/energy loss. It's actually the dopamine effect of thinking about sex/women/etc.
This means no thinking about naked women, fantasizing, etc. Even if you don't masturbate, but think about sex all day long, it's even more tiring.
