bit of a general question really, what type of site is it? Are you using lots of images? have you optimized images/ So many questions but without knowing anything about the type of site you have, it's really a hard question to help you with

If you use lots of images in the site then you will need to Zip your images. Then use cache plugin and lastly use CDN for boosting your server performance. Still if you are not understand how to do it. Let me know. I may able to help you.

that is an Excellent link and I've had a boost from using wordfence plugin has a Nice speed boost feature

"we" ? How many person you have inside you ? 25?
OP: Install cache / change theme. Turn off plugins that you don't really need. And finally change hosting provider !
