Hi, I was wondering what really defined Incentive based CPA. I know content lockers are, but if I'm giving them money to complete surveys and stuff is that also incentive based or is that just drawing the line?

I'm asking this question because on my affiliate network, I'm also kind of confused on which offers I can actually do incentives with. A few of the descriptions says "no incentives allowed" while the rest have nothing on them. I don't really want to assume that I can use incentive tactics on the ones with no description and get banned though....

It depends on the specifics for each offer. If it says "no cash incentives," you can't offer money for your visitors to complete offers. If it doesn't say that, you may offer cash as an incentive. If an offer is in a content locker, it's incentive-based (completing surveys to unlock something), thus the offer must be incentivizable.

If the offer says "no incentives allowed," that's straightforward enough. It can't be used in a content locker- legally . If it has a slightly higher pay than a similar incentive offer, I'd assume it's non-incent. That's not always the case, however. If it doesn't say anything any you're still not sure, it's best to check with your AM. Just send your AM a quick message via IM or email.

So if it says like
Traffic Allowed
Contextual
CPC
Display
Email
Search
Social

Does that mean I can't do content lockers and stuff?

Content locking is permitted if incent traffic is allowed

You can definitely use content lockers but you need them to be from an incentivized network such as blamads

just look under which category the cpa offer is listed...normally if it is incent it would be stated there explicitally!

but to make sure that you are not doing anything against the TOS of the cpa network, i would suggest that you pm your affiliate manager ;)

otherwise check out how the incentives are marked in your cpa network and then you'll know which ones are incents and which are not ;)

have fun making money bro, cpa is the best
