First and foremost apologies for any spelling or grammatical errors on such a lengthy post.

Here is a brief intro about myself. I am a 36 years old Nigerian, with no skill, wasted over 10 years working a near slave job. My monthly pay for almost a decade was around $60. I saved aggressively even to the detriment of my health and that of my family. I had to throw in the towel and quit the job. I have been working 9 - 6 everyday for such a miserable pay.

So far my savings can provide basic necessities like food, Internet bill, electricity, kids school fees, health and every other personal needs for myself, wife and 2 kids (Twins) for at least a year and 6 months (18 months). My wife has a business that generates around $80 monthly.

My goal within the next 18 months is to make at least $6000 solely from the Internet. And my startup capital for this is around $150. The greatest hurdles for me are:

1: Newbie - I am a complete newbie who doesn't know his left from his right, in Internet marketing. As such I feel so overwhelmed and lost. I don't even know what to start, or where to start from.

2: No skill - I have no single marketable skill. But I am very much ready to put in the needed effort to learn a skill, that will make me achieve my Internet marketing goals. I am very much ready to walk the talk no matter how challenging it maybe.

3: I am an introvert. My introversy is on another level . I can stay indoors and not talk to anybody for 24 hours. I am addicted to being alone. I haven't being in any social gathering in years.

4: A third word resident. Imagine living in a country where the minimum wage is less than $30. Fraud is like a normal way of life. At the mention of your country name to strangers online, their fraud alert hormones suddenly spike high. Due to the fact that your country is synonymous with various types of Internet related scams

5: Low Capital: My $150 startup capital is not even enough for a sock5 proxy subscription. It is like a drop of water on an ocean.

Even with all the challenges listed above, I believe I still have a fair chance of achieving my goals due to the following reasons.

1: Time - I intend dedicating at least 10 hours daily in pursuing my goals. Either in learning, trying out things, or networking with those ahead of me. I have secured a fairly used PC with some nice specs, and an android phone. I will be glued to these device almost all the time.

2: Less worries: Like I said earlier, all my basic needs and that of my family is secured for at least a period of 18 months. This will make me focus more on my journey, and kill that fear of worrying about where my family's next meal will come from.

3: Access to Internet and electricity - Given the erratic power issues in my country, I have managed to secure access for a 10 hour uninterrupted power supply, and an 85GB data allocation every month. Access to the Internet and power won't be much of a hassle.

In a closing remarks. I need suggestions on best routes to take in arriving at my destination. I also need honest opinions from you all. If in my shoes how will you achieve such a goal given the obstacles listed above. I anticipate you recommendations, opinions, criticism and even bashing. Thank you all as you do that.

Hey bro, I have been there, you know what? Keep your head UP! After that darkness, it is a big light. Follow your instincts

I will follow this thread.

Thank you very much for your encouragement.

I don't care what you think about yourself mate but you write decently well and that's a marketable skill for starters. Draft a nice resume for yourself with your experience so far and maybe look for virtual assistant jobs in HAF section or some freelance platforms. Life is tough in Nigeria but a lot of people still make it big starting out where you are right now. I'm rooting for you, good luck!

Started like you bro. But you have to work hard. Good luck to you.
I am very much ready to not only work hard, but work very hard. Working very hard is a must and non negotiable. I am currently stuck on knowing where to.

With that being said, you need to learn first. This forum is a library of money making methods. It's up to you on which one should you focus on learning and then scaling up.

Yes, pretty difficult situation... I guess payment processors also don't like it ? PayPal, and stuff (in my country its also limited)... I d suggest you first explore how you can get money. There are freelancer platforms where you can work, After earning some money you can then invest. Best of luck to you.

yea like the user mentioned above working as a Va could be a good way to start in making money online. There are a few sub Reddits where people are looking for Va to help them with simple tasks. Use this time to earn some money and try and figure out why they are paying you to do the Job. Most people only hire a Va if they are making money and trying to "automate" the task. Social media manger liking/commenting/following type stuff.

Wow. It's inspiring how you've been able to live together with your family only on that amount of money alone.

Tbh I've been to a similar situation myself where I had nothing. Literally nothing. While working as hard as I could --

The only advice I could give if I was in your shoes, migrate to another Country(Europe preferably). I know it sounds hard.

But many of my friends come from Africa and a lot of them migrated forcefully due to the situation. That would be a first(toward more pay, etc).
---------------------------------

Second piece of advice:

Take a breather. Fresh up your mind and dive into a valuable skillset. In my case was video editing -- When I learned this it seemed impossible.

And here I am not talking about throwing in some videos in Premiere Pro, cut them, and call it a day. No.

I mean REAL video editing where you make something that people love and it's on another level. Yeah, you can do it too.

What can you earn from it?

Easily 1000$ / month for 3-4 hours / day. I am exaggerating? No, Im doing the same thing. So experience.

---------------------------------------

Of course, it doesn't have to be this. You can do programming, etc. Find something that would fit your style and something that you find worth putting hours in.

I honestly wish you lots of success and the best of luck!

Thank you very much for your opinion.
Talking about migrating from my country is an idea behind the burner for now. Because the odds are stacked heavily against me, no skill, financier to back me up, and host of other things.

And as for learning a skill, programming is definitely a skill I intend learning. I am fascinated about how computers work and how to command them to do our bidding. About enrolling on Harvard's CS50x. But I believe programming is a long term skill and from my findings being motivated by money to learn a skill like programming may lead to an unhappy ending. I want to put in at least 2 years into learning programming before expecting any monetary gains from it.

My main and short term goal for now, is to learn an internet marketing skill that can make me achieve my goal. If I do it with programming it will be my pleasure. But I am least expectant of achieving my goal with programming, given the short time frame . Although I am hopeful.

I really like your comment and the advice you give. I am now learning in the world of video editing, a world that I like by the way and my goal is similar to yours. That of not doing conventional editing a bit like cutting, pasting, adding music, not but doing this captivating video editing. Yes, that's what I aspire to. I will receive a big push from you if you can share your experience with me. What inspires you, what direction could I take? I started with CapCut. I don't make any money yet with this skill and I want to go further with adobe first pro and after effect. I will be very happy to read you.

No offense, but based on your information, I would suggest that you become a reseller, now that other platforms are starting to accumulate startup capital, and then resell on BHW.

You could create udemy tutorials of 3. 5 hours each with chatgpt and stable diffusion + python scripts

You can create 3 tutorials a day

You get 200,000 a year

Well, your country weakness may become a strenght somehow.

For example, how much does it cost the electricity (for each Kw/h in your country/region) ?

What's cheap n your country that may be sold, with the right connections, elsewhere?

Well i think that in online business beying introvert and staying a lot in home its not necasarly a disavantage and it can be conaidered something good because it can help you to work good hours online and be succesful making money

I think its important to dive in a good field like affiliate marketing ,dropshiping ,cpa marketing etc and learn the process
You need to find a succesful person in your field then you must learn their strategies ,methods etc

You can search for them on youtube ,as succesful affiliate marketars have an youtube channel and a blog and they post there teachings ,methods etc

Try to model them ,learn from them ,use their strategy etc

Most of the streams of online income are not that promising these days because of high competition. I created a blog with AdSense and was able to generate $48 in a year. The second year was generous as I was doing the right things, so I managed to make $50 to $60 each month, and the story goes on.

Having said that, you can try and connect with people on LinkedIn - I mean CEOs and directors etc, and ask them to allow you to build their one-page website for some fee.

But this will require you to learn website development. You can do it and it shouldn't take much time. Let us know what help you will need and we will try to guide you to our best.

I think working as a Virtual Assistant is your best bet, given the amount of savings you have and the situation you're currently in.

Your English is better than most of the VAs out there, and you can easily communicate with everyone.

You just have to do some simple tasks (Mostly in a repetitive cycle), and most of them don't require you to have any experience in that field.

In the worst case, you're making 1.5$ per hour and if the guy wants you to work full time (8 hours per day), you can easily make 12$ per day. Which is 300$ - 360$ per month.

The hardest part of the process is finding someone who's looking for a VA.
