As for your job, I think, approach people you work with and explain how you feel about your current position and tell them what you would like to do. If they won't let you... well then - you already were successful as a freelancer once or start your own web design company. You sound like smart enough guy to pull that off and that will bring some excitement in your life for sure.

Best of luck OP!

The question is what do you want to do?
You cannot change the way people behave or make themselves interesting to you.
The only control you have is over yourself. So, may be you can go to work with
little more energy than usual, change your vibe and it will affect your workplace, your
fellow mates.

You can keep your job but on the side you can do many more things,
can you not if you really decide to?. One or two exciting, adventurous experience in a week or
even a month can actually make life more interesting.

So, are you going to wait for life to happen to you, other people to come entertain you
or are you gonna go out and do the things that entertains you and
excites you and have exhilarating experiences?

You kind of remind me of myself in situations where I feel down at random days, for example If I think I am wasting my time

Im near the age 16 and when you see life going by faster it just makes me stop and think sometimes if I am not focusing my energy on what I want to do, who I want to become, and my future

A lot of people have a dream, a variety of people would say could be unrealistic but they're just fags with no life and they don't believe anything is possible

F that if you aren't happy or if you're not the best vision of yourself, you are the only one who can change your life

Think about that

Oh Ste, We're here in life for the merest moment.

"When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: 'If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right.' It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'no' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something." - Steve Jobs

4. Love/Connection

Which one's do you think are missing? Maybe we can help provide you with learning resources that will allow you to pursue each
Oh great a Steve Jobs quote, thanks for that mate.

Hello,

I was in a similar situation from 17-19 (now 22) I was working a average job and attending university so I can empathise with you.

What i say might seem harsh but I genuinely just want to help.

You seem to have a Gamma/ Beta male mindset in the sense that you feel entitled to a better life, but aren't willing to work or take the risks necessary to achieve it.

Are you really who you think? because your complaining about your friends but your actions are the same (mundane job/ boring life)

Don't like your job? figure out what you want to do and take action. (quit job and start a business)

Don't like your friends? cut them off, focus on becoming a better man.

If you don't like going home to your dog, read a book on seduction (I can recommend) which helped me in my teens on how to approach women in the day or evening and now I setup atleast 2 dates a week.

Something which changed my life was inner confidence in who you are as a man rejection or failure whether with women or business doesn't really matter. Just pick yourself back up, have the audacity to approach a girl in the street, or to pursue that business idea that you believe in.

Maybe you just don't have what it takes to be a leader? if you don't then stop complaining.
To borrow a phrase from W130SN, you are a fucking clown.

From my viewpoint - looks to me that you are growing as a person - Maturing to an adult - most people don't hit this stage until they are in the 40s (why? Because at that age, they mostly have kids and need to pump a lot of money and that drives and motivates them). The age old saying ... you are who you hang around with.
Time for you to make new friends - I'm serious. Your income is the average of your 5 most closest friend - you are at the point where you want to grow as a person and do well in life - and you not happy to settle for anything less.

Family you cannot choose - HOWEVER you can choose to spend time with them or not. Luckily my family is good. But *if* my family was bad, I would not spend time with them at all. Maybe the occasional hang out, but I would avoid them like a plague.

Since you are single, I would recommend something ... might struck you as I dont need that stuff, but I would recommend it highly.
Learn PUA - Pick Up Artist. Why? It's all about working on yourself. Its a life skill...and you use it for not just picking up girls, but working wise as well.
Look up Double Your Dating by David Deangelo [sign up to his free newsletter -worth the gold]. Look up Neil Strauss - The Game [great book].

Work wise - I highly recommend you to sit down with a notebook and pen, and just write everything down. Just scribble notes everywhere, and get everything out of your head, and onto paper. Why? Because when its in your mind, its like a jigsaw puzzel - but once you get it onto paper, you can start to rearrange it and put it into formation. What you want to do is write down where you want to be in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, and 30 years [or you can start with 30 years - whichever is easier for you]

I wish you the best of luck. Remember - nearly all successful people was down in the dumps before they emerged out of the darkness and to victory. Eg Napolean Hill, Donald Trump, Richard Branson etc etc.
I thought you were going to offer good advice until you mentioned PUA. Is this forum really that full of these tossers, I have had 3 PM's and its been mentioned on here a lot... Are there really that many people obsessed with this total crap around? Or am I just a lodestone for wankers.

Im near the age 16
Oh my lord.......

I feel like I am a gorilla with a baseball bat fighting a bunch of retards with spoons. A lot of you have no place to be giving out life advice so lets set some criteria before people waste time replying:
1. If you believe a book, audio file or video series will change my life do not reply.
2. If you are under the age of 21, you have no place replying.

If anyone else PM's me ebooks on being an alpha male I will hunt you down and burst your fucking lungs.

I burst out laughing!

It really is a mid life crisis, chill the fuck out and just start focusing on the 'what'. I absolutely HIGHLY recommend blowing some steam off with a chick or two, even a few - don't have time to pick up? Get a call girl, you have no idea how much this will help you chill and start thinking straight on what you need to change in your life and how you should proceed in doing so.

Was in a similar but different situation myself.

I was working for an offline business (home improvement related). They were on the verge of going bankrupt. My first year I brought them up to $800,000. Around 1/4 of those profits were pure luck from a hurricane. Yet still, I built them a huge online funnel and proved to myself I could generate leads & bring the cash flow in.

You said you started doing web design and are now doing customer support and other shit. I started with web design. Then took over their marketing and lead gen. Made myself a 1 man marketing team who could keep the phone ringing.

After that first year or so I wasn't happy with much of anything. The owner had no management skills. Zero accounting skills. He was hilarious, charismatic, borderline comedian, but dumb as fuck. In my eyes he was completely useless aside from the paperwork. He had the licenses, insurance, financing, bbb, all the credentials on paper to do the work. I was the heart of the business. And was gravely underestimating my role. One day I just thought, "I made this guy a lot of money, he's blowing it at the casinos, cheating on his wife, this business wouldn't exist w/out me".

So I raised the stakes. Told him I wanted commissions raised from 8 to 12%. Then started pulling 4% into a separate funnel building exactly what I did for him. Doing it for myself and my brother. The branding, copy, website, social media, directories, reviews, youtube videos, classifieds, everything on my own. I worked my ass off building 2 companies at the same time. Then I stole his top salesman (my brother), we got licensed, insured.... that was the smartest decision I made in my life. Even if I didn't have my brother I could have hired a broker off craigslist and subcontracted everything.

All that mattered, all the matters to me till this day is leads leads leads. It's hard work, I don't always like it, but it's exciting and like mining for gold.

My instinct is you want more autonomy and control. Whatever you did for this business to bring it's sales up.... I'm sure you witnessed a lot of bullshit, mistakes and failure. So you have the unfair advantage of knowing and not programming those failures into a new business model. To duplicate, replicate whatever success you were able to produce. That's me speaking from my gut.

Speaking logically, ecommerce sites scare me. That's not my field. So I wouldn't feel safe launching one myself.

But you've already done it (to some extent) successfully. So you have some insider knowledge. You know a certain industry inside and out. You probably know other industries, markets, keywords, etc to avoid. You gotta think about the future. How to pivot from the position you're at. Maybe the last thing you wanna do is replicate the business you're working for now. Maybe you feel you don't have the time. But if it's making money it's making money. All businesses have room for improvement. To simplify, automate, eliminate clutter and increase the bottomline.

Regardless of what you do, you really have 2 choices. Get another job or start your own business. Start whatever. Sell anything. Even if you're trading for less money chances are you'll be richer and better off. I took a blow to my earnings when I broke off. Lost a huge line of credit. So I had to scale slower. But I worked that much harder and more efficiently. Just KNOWING I was working for something I'D OWN, that I HAVE CONTROL, I can't explain how motivating that is. I did help to have a partner. But he knows shit about marketing. I had to take all that pressure on myself and explode. Take whatever pressure you're under and explode. Aim it in the right direction and do it like your life depends on it.

If it means that much in the first place.

I was feeling similarly burnt out a few years ago.

The job started off fine, I was 19 and I was basically fixing computers. I was ok with that at the time.

After a few months, I was handling customer support, repairs, deliveries and training up new unqualified people, because apparently I was the only one who knew what was going on. Most of my days were spent working from 7 to 7, as well as most Saturdays.

I ended up hating the job, so I just decided to quit and move. The company still contacts me every now and then. Apparently they still don't have any staff who know what they're doing.

Cut off all bad people around you, start a firm on your own, fuck some bitches and you'll be good. :D

You need to purchase a plot near a beach and become a gardener

What is it that you heart truly longs for?

I'll give you a hint: pick a person that you truly admire - alive or dead. Their lifestyle, their way of thinking, whatever it is and go for that :).

Any software dev or design job gets boring. I don't stay anywhere for longer than 6 months. The only way to make money, learn new stuff, keep excited about the regular 9-5 is to job hop. I've been in the biz for a long time, and my network of dev friends are just the same. A friend of mine spent the last year of his programming job watching pluralsight videos. He was so bored. He quit and went backpacking in Europe.

You'll be worth much more and be able to market yourself anywhere if you job hop in the programming/design field. And, you won't get bored. I've been so bored before and checked out and didn't give a fuck if I was fired... actually wanted to get fired a few times, so I would come in late and just fuck around. Only reason why I didn't quit is because the food was awesome.
