Facebook shares closed down 8.4% Friday following the social media giant’s announcement that changes in store for its “News Feed” could result in less time spent on the site, CNBC reported. The key area of the platform where advertising is placed will now favor content from friends and family over that of publishers and businesses. Decreases in referral traffic, reach and more are expected from the changes, which the company has said will take time to roll out. The move is meant to emphasize “meaningful social interactions” over “relevant content," it said. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he expects the time users spend on the site to be of “higher quality” as a result.

Have you prepared for this already?
I think it's a good move simply because I think social connections matter more than profits. But I also see that it can crunch those who rely on business pages and ads. This obviously will trickle down to Instagram so who's gonna change their account back to a personal page there/ is it even worth it?
