I am conducting a series of researches on new websites, and this point caught my mind.
Suppose you launched a new website. Based on what would google rank you in the SERP? most of people would say backlinks. But for new websites you have a limitation in number of backlinks you may build. And there are many instances when people buy expensive backlinks for new websites and it just doesnt work. Spam rates are topping to the roof. So I think the role of initial traffic and user experience is overlooked here.
Based on which info would google rate your website and put it into intial rankings if your site doesnt get TRAFFIC?
You have to send QUALITY traffic, for google to estimate and place your website into initial rankings. Hence why building backlinks without traffic I think you may lose some bonus points.
