Immediate Help for My WordPress Hack!

Unfortunately, my WordPress was hacked by my ex-colleague and I only have one user password in admin mode to login.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to the host and server. But I have access to GTM and 1 user to login without admin access.
Is there anything I can do to return admin access?

Unfortunately, if you don't even have access to your host and server, there is nothing you can do by yourself. You can go against him legally though but I don't know how far.

if he owned the domain name, he simply could clone the website (you don't need admin access for that), start hosting it on a new server, and change domain DNS settings to the new hosting.

Website maintenance is about the server, but website ownership is about the domain name.

whoever holds the keys to the domain is the owner. The wordpress login is irrelevant.

You have a few components here that are important-

Domain name- if it’s not in your name then you cannot control the website. If it’s registered in your name or your companies name or you have some proof that you own it then you might be able to take forced ownership- I know for example in the uk you can open a dispute with nominet and they will hand the domain over to you in certain cases.

Website- this is files and database, you need these to make the site work. Once again if the hosting is in your name or company name get in touch with them and they may release it to you. If not the. You either need a backup of the site, or you’ll have to rip it- essentially involves rebuilding it with a little help from internet archive.

Aside from that, there are no other options.

If you have domain control then you don't need to worry.
You can change NS and use your own hosting.
Contact your hosting provider. They could help you. Provide your documents and proof that you are owner of the site.
