Imagine you are given $3000 for a new website project. You must choose 1 niche (it doesn't matter what it is).

The goals are:
1) to rank as high as possible in Google with any keywords
2) start earning within a year with affiliate products
3) sell the website after 2 years for as high value as possible.

Questions:
- What's your strategy?
- What are you going to spend the money on? If you are going to use tools like Ahrefs then count those also in expenses.
- What are your estimates how much you are going to earn per month:
1) in 6 months
2) in 1 year
3) in 2 years at the time you are selling the website

- What are your estimates for how much you could sell the website?
- TOTAL PROFIT of the project?

Let's see where this goes :)

Nice try, very imaginative way of researching niches, no doubt some newbies will fall for this lol!

I'd head over to this thread where @SeoPublicist is doing some crazy deals at the moment including a 10k word site for under $100.

Seriously the guy must be in a straight jacket

Not sure what the point of this thread is, but people just love asking these questions as if someone will write them a magical guide to success.

Just take any website building guide shared on BHW and invest your 3k in their process. The good ones (meathead1234, jamie etc) are shared by members who really know what they’re doing as compared to the types of people who’ll be writing random, useless untested ideas they’ve read elsewhere.

- What's your strategy?
Find as many keyword that has low competition with reasonable search volume with Ahrefs
Buy an article targeting those keywords
Buy backlinks
Just 3 steps but will be long if expand each step
:D

- What are you going to spend the money on? If you are going to use tools like Ahrefs then count those also in expenses.
Ahrefs, articles, backlinks. Plus domain and hosting

- What are your estimates how much you are going to earn per month:
1) in 6 months = $0 - $several hundreds
2) in 1 year = $ several hundreds - around $1000
3) in 2 years at the time you are selling the website = Still around $ several hundreds - around $1000

- What are your estimates for how much you could sell the website? No idea, I have no experience to sell website in last 4 years
- TOTAL PROFIT of the project? Can't count exactly. Should be more than $3000 in 2 years if I did it right.

This feels like another newbie asking "how to make 100" except its more detailed.

I'd just put my imaginary money into crypto then make imaginary trades each day. Each imaginary trade would make around 30% per day. Then I'd wait for absolute fucking mugs to ask me about my imaginary trades. I'd swiftly drop them an affiliate link (Not imaginary). I'd guess by the end of the year I'd of made more than the imaginary 3k I "started" with.

Oh I'm sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I don't care what the niche is, that's what I meant by "it doesn't matter what the niche is".

Then file your accounts showing annual earnings of £199?

Wasn't that done on here last year by the cryptokiddies? They all made imaginary profit

Atlast someone made a real answer. Thank you!
Honestly lately I feel there aren’t that many people on this forum who truly join discussions. Just those who rant about things or reply nonsense.

Well I'd imagine I already have a site that was making Millions and Millions of $$$..., problem solved :)

Could you do me a favour. Could you imagine I have a website that makes billions a day. I want to see what positive impact it has on my life. I'll split half of my imaginary money with you if you do a good job.

Thanks.

KW research for one. See what makes sense in terms of ranking based on difficulty and search volume.

- What are you going to spend the money on? If you are going to use tools like Ahrefs then count those also in expenses.

I use the general tools that most do; Ahrefs, KW finder, Semrush etc. The boxed products do as good a job as one can expect. I'd use mainly services I provide to rank the site so the $ volume is not going to be "fair" when it comes to an algo if you were to put this all in a spreadsheet.

I stay away from those kinds of projections when it comes to ranking sites as Google is pretty fickle and it is hard to lay out a solid proforma that I would put in front of anyone including myself.

- What are your estimates for how much you could sell the website?

After a couple of years I would be looking for a multiplier of between 18 and 24 months of profit if it was just a site based on organic traffic.

That thread went to shit as is this. No one answers meaningful answers. And as I said I’m not asking for a niche. Just want to see what the “Pro’s” are going to say, but seems like there are none here.
I’m already doing my own thing, but it seems that no one here thinks in terms of ROI and finance. Everyone just does everything based on luck and tries some shiny “new” method once in a while.
