Image links on Reddit

Hey guys!

I am trying to get a hang of Reddit. I see most posts in NSFW subreddits are submitted using links.

Why do people not just post directly to the subreddit ON Reddit?
If some admins of Subreddits require it - why?


Its the first platform I came across where this is pretty normal.

To upload images directly to reddit on nsfw subreddits you need to be on their mobile app, you can't do that from a browser, so users that post through a browser have to use external image hosts.

you can also get banned for posting direct CTA
