So, I am creating a knowledge-based website, so to speak.
Each page includes a paragraph or two (sometimes more) of unique content and then the rest of the page covers different variations of the topic in question.
I thought about creating unique pages for these different variations. But, I worry they will lose context if the variation content were published on individual pages. There's a lot of content and context given in the pages top paragraph(s) that outlines what the page's variations are about.
I've had some experience with SEO in the past and I'm kind of convinced that I would not want to post the same page content on each variation's page.
Considering that initial page content is very unique and written by hand, I worry that if I were to post that same content over and over again for each variation page then Google might punish me for duplicate content.
On the flip side, I worry that if I were not to post that important, initial content and utilize individual pages for each variation that I would lose context for what that variation is about since that initial page's paragraph or so is not included on the variation's page.
Another thing that worries me is that if I don't split up the content and post all the variations together on one page that perhaps Google will punish me for not focusing and being specific on one topic. Not sure, really?
Like saying, a page solely about oranges will rank higher when an end user searches for oranges instead of a page about oranges, apples, and bananas. All fruits, but less specificity. Is there any truth to this?
Basically, the page is formatted like so:
Page Header
- Page content (at least a paragraph or two, sometimes more.)
Variation A Header
- Variation A content
Variation B Header
- Variation B content
Variation C Header
- Variation C content
Or, like so:
Page Header
- Page content (at least a paragraph or two, sometimes more)
(Links to separate pages...)
Link to Variation A page
Link to Variation B page
Link to Variation C page
And the variation pages like so:
Variation Header
- Variation content
(Some pages may have up to 6 or more variant sections.)
Each variation covers a different perspective of what the page is about.
You can kind of think of it like the page header and content are a "question" and the variation's are different, but applicable "answers."
