Hi guys,

I've been doing SEO (or at least really tried) for Medical niche site, like very specific into alternative med and such. don't like it, but it's a job.

I've failed to gain any foothold after more than 3 months. Do you guys have any recommendation? can't do it locally since it is kinda international trope.

Any basic, simple tips&tricks would be helpful, very appreciate every suggestion. I learned a lot from lurking around here actually.

ps. I know i'm wrong, but is big G actually make these kind of site harder to rank in short/straight queries.

Thanks

seo can take months and at times years depending on competetion of your target keywords. You can go through the forums, there's a lot of content to read and learn from about seo, keywords and how to rank, etc.

Suggestion would be to do your keyword research properly, before you start building your site. Health is one of the most competitive niches out there. Unless you have some ridiculously easy keyword or at least some experience with SEO, don't bother with those.

Also, if you are not confident about the site, stop pouring more money in it, learn from it and move on.

Thank you Nargil, proxified. I guess I should look into more keyword research.

the long tail keywords on the services my client provide doesn't have much search volume <100, and it's funny that there are no competition (business terms) on the more value keyword.
I have another question if anyone'd like to help. If the service your client provide is controversial or very niche and hard to come by. what would be the best solution to increase organic traffic for that? create a content that are closely relevant with more search volume etc.

again, Thank you for your advices.

Focusing on related keywords or using media buys.

Use good keyword research tools, like LSI, SEMrush and keywordtool.io. Also, you can try visiting your competitors' websites and see what they've been doing. The medical niche can be a too competitive sometimes, so expect frustrations, especially if you don't have any experience with SEO.
