Can someone please recommend a solid service? I'm looking for a simple, easy-to-set-up platform where I can host around 10 WP sites.

I'd be more than happy to try a recommended service here on the marketplace. :)

You should look into Amazon AWS. They have a one click wordpress multisite installation. It's fairly easy to configure too.

Most web host have 1 click installs on shared and Reseller host. have you checked any web host out yet that did not have this?
 
Bluehost is the best and the first one recommended by the own wordpress.

For Worpress Hosting I would suggest You YouStable.com instead of any other big Companies.

Almost all companies now offers 1-click wordpress install. Just check each company's service realiablility. I always used my own VPS or dedicated server to host websites so not sure about about what service to suggest you. Maby you want to look at hostgator ?

I am not sure about your budget and site size, so:
If budget is not a problem, then you should choose big and reputed hosts for example, dreamhost, bluehost, inmotion hosting and etc, all of them come with a simple and easy services.
If you also take account of budget, then you probably could try the way of self-hosting, that is doable since nowdays a slew of control panels has been developed to suit pretty much all you needs for an easy and secure server management, for example, VPSrobots. And most of all, this would save you great coins.
