It's crazy! About 18 hours ago, I wanted to buy Bitcoin, but that wasn't feasible, so I started learning about mining Litecoin. Now I have 5-6 wallets and I'm learning how to mine SHA-256 and Scrypt. I built a PC that I justify as a "gaming/mining" machine. I realize I'm getting pulled into this world of cryptocurrency and find it really interesting. I hope everyone has a great holiday and New Year. Right now, I just want to see a block to see what it looks like!

Mining is basically dead. I would not recommend it. Most projects are focusing on PoS (Proof of Stake)

If you REALLY want to go down that route and have a ton of money to spend, I recommend this site: https://whattomine.com/

Keep in mind you make money only after you get your investment back and paid off your electricity. Most people are better off just buying the coin.

So how much you spent on mining litecoin ?

That's awesome! Diving into crypto mining is exciting great way to learn hands-on. Enjoy the journey, and happy holidays to you too!

Welcome to BHW! Kicking off your crypto journey with mining is definitely an unusual start.

But honestly, mining on a PC is probably the worst idea you could have. Get yourself an ASIC. You'd actually be pulling in $5 to $20 a day. If you're lucky with cheap electricity, you might even recoup 50% of your equipment cost in a year

You’ll probably end up buying Bitcoin anyway once you get deeper into the space.

I have a pretty new experience with Bitcoin, everything will work out for me without diving too deep into it

Mining has become largely unprofitable, and most new projects are shifting towards Proof of Stake (PoS). At this point, I wouldn’t recommend getting into mining.
Just keep buying deeps and you will be fine.

keep learning bro i wish you the best , all i know is crypto mining isn't always profitable especially if the electricity bill is high , but if you are obsessed with it you ll succeed eventually

You're right, bro. Crypto mining needs patience and good electricity management. Profit depends a lot on power cost and setup efficiency. Keep learning and testing — consistency always pays off. Good luck on your journey!

Welcome to the community! This is an exciting start, but just a step forward: be sure to keep a close eye on your electricity costs vs. your hash rate so you don't end up mining at a loss.

Crypto and blockchain are quite interesting, but mining is no longer profitable and is essentially dead. It only puts unnecessary stress on your computer with little to no return. However, if you are doing it purely for learning purposes, then it is fine.

That’s the spirit! Crypto has a way of sucking you in before you even realize it. Seeing your first block is a core memory in the making. Welcome to the club and have a legendary New Year!

Managing recurring expenses is often overlooked when people focus only on earning more. In my case, tracking electricity usage regularly made a noticeable difference in controlling monthly costs. Having a simple way to check and review bills online helped me understand consumption patterns better. I’ve found fescoebillcheck.pk useful for quickly reviewing electricity bills without relying on paper copies, which makes monthly expense tracking a bit easier.

How profitable is mining these days?
