IM is so stressful

yea themeforest is a good start, anywhere from 40 to 70+, some themes are really good. Just a one time fee, it is a good investment in my opinion. It will probably take you a few mins or a few hours to fully set up that site.

Just do the things only you can do, leave the rest to the others.

wordpress is considered easy as compared to dreamweaver which I used when just started IM. Allocate some time but not whole day trying to figure out how to make the whole site look the same as the demo. Try exploring bit by bit, maybe today header, tomorrow side bars and so on. Learn one small step a day, in a year, you can become an expert in WP. No joke it is not as hard as you think

Thanks guys I think I am starting to get the hang of it I got my home page almost completed today,Working on my custom logo with pixlr at the moment.Might finish it tomorrow today has been a long day.

Also going to have to go through each recipe I posted on my site and write a bit of my own content to make sure I don't have to worry about copyright bullshit. Hoping that is as easy as it sounds but it probably isnt :cowboy:

Just need to keep a positive attitude through all this.

Website creation is not for everyone. Personally, I hate doing
websites, so I outsource the task to people who DO enjoy it
and are good at it. It is very difficult and tedious to do all of
the "grunt work" yourself. Spend a little $$$ and outsource
the stuff you don't want to do to someone who can get the
job done.

Coming from the other side of the coin, this ^

Most of the work I do involves modifying or setting up stuff that people can't or don't want to do themselves. Sure, it can be tedious and boring at times, even I'll admit that. But people pay damn good money for it.

absolutely themeforest and woothemes are best options for you; starting from just $3 I think it's awesome investment and only takes few minutes to setup the site

OP, you sound very much like me. I hate to take shortcuts and I despise paying someone else to do something I am physically (if not mentally) capable of doing myself. When you first start it will feel like you are getting nowhere fast.

Sometimes it does help to spend a small amount to get something just right but keep at it and when you are finished you will be able to sit back and admire what you have created. You will feel proud of what you have accomplished.

Dunno, website creation is my favourite think, i like spending hours to make it looks sexy and user friendly. Sometimes i create websites myself and not use WP. After job is done i love looking at my website and feeling proud inside. For me its like and art like a music creation for musician or like writing book for writer :D My masterpiece :D

What i hate is content production and of course OFSITE SEO. I suck banana at it....

Just relax and see many tutorial videos on Youtube. It will help you very much.

Go to Themeforest and buy a template for ~$50.

Still got to customize it with CSS, or else it'll look like a POS... wrong dimensions, colours, etc. I spent a lot of time customizing my theme forest theme this week to make it look pristine. The settings they give you don't usually cover it all.

Make sure you check the articles with copyscape. Its pretty cheap but if you want I can run
some through and check their uniqueness after you rewrite them to help you out.

Its only like 5 cents a check and a must for any webmaster.

He needs to do it himself so he can learn the ins and outs. Outsourcing is for veterans that
have a lot going on at one time.
what about the pictures? If I am using their pictures does it matter? What If they are watermarked photos does that mean I wont have to worry about copyright.I am going to be using Adsense to monetize at least for now until I build more traffic then I will probably do CPA offers or something.

You are going to hear a lot of different stories when it comes to pictures. For me personally I just remove
the watermarks using Gimp and use them. What are they going to do ask me if I purchased them? I highly
doubt they will use the resources to track me down over a couple of pics.

So in short I never had an issue with copyright over pictures.

Use that reverse image search and when you find a pic you like that's watermarked just punch it into tineye
and see if it finds the same image used on someones website that is not watermarked. I screen capture the
images unless they absolutely have to be PNG so no webmaster or company knows I right clicked and downloaded them.

There are 2 ways to do the work, pay someone and get it done OR start learning and do it yourself. Choice is yours.

You gotta face it that you cannot do everything. I was in the same situation with Wordpress. Although it looks easy at start - install a theme, some plugins and boom you're ready - but I know from experience now that it is the tweaking of even small things that can end up taking a long time, especially if you are new.

I was working alone when I was trying to start off my website. So not only creating a website was one of the tasks, meeting suppliers, and actual work on the ground was also to be done. After a week of sleepless nights and spending hours with minimal results on wordpress, I realised that all other work was suffering too. So I gave it up for good, realising it was one of the things better done by someone else.

Don't mix IM with web development.

And any job becomes stressful when you don't enjoy it.

That's weird. For me IM is very relaxing and enjoyable. My parents won't let me do IM full time instead of school (I'm 16) and school stresses me out like crazy and I actually use IM to calm my nerves. It's just an enjoyable way to make cash for me.

I know mate. Patience is v essential in IM or any thing in life

I will usually do this.

1. Go to themeforest, search for the theme that I want for a wordpress site I'm working on.
2. Search BHW for the theme download. If not, make a request thread. Usually, someone would be happy to share a download link.

Sometimes the theme would not be exactly what I want, but I just go with it, and tweak some codes (usually just .css) to get what I wanted. But since I have web design and development experience, I tend to do more than just tweaking. Sometimes, I just generate a 'naked' wordpress theme with underscores.me and change what I want.

I tend to work too much on wordpress, like tweaking and designing endlessly to see what would be nice. The hours just went by and I do not see the result I want, or kind of want. Now, I usually set a design goal and stick with it, then work on the content, improving as I go along. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and learning to set a design goal, and the works that need to be done really help me to just launch and improve along the way.

I bite my nails.. bad habit when I get stressed.
Anyway, Ive heard you are having problems with Wordpress, which is used for "fast deployment"
Personally Ive had many head aches.
Since I am learning PHP Frameworks its been a very easy task to export data as csv and build up my own models and work just one time on the Views. (MVC is a very powerful way of coding. Model - View - Controller)
It usually takes me less time to work outside of wordpress than inside. The big problem is the learning curve and incompatibilities of Wordpress themes with plugins, or plugins with other plugins and so on. Also its a very bummer having to be updating everything almost every week to avoid getting hacked.
