I have been working on a recipe website the past couple of days and it is so damn confusing.Even though I am using Wordpress this is probably one of the most difficult things I have ever done.I have been at it since the moment I woke up this morning till now, which is nearly 7 hours.I have barley accomplished anything because it does not look anything like I want it to look like. Jesus I need a break!

Website creation is not for everyone. Personally, I hate doing
websites, so I outsource the task to people who DO enjoy it
and are good at it. It is very difficult and tedious to do all of
the "grunt work" yourself. Spend a little $$$ and outsource
the stuff you don't want to do to someone who can get the
    job done.

Thanks for the advice,I am sure it would probably cost a pretty penny to get something like that done. I do not know if i want to take any shortcuts in this because I have always hated shortcuts, but I almost feel like this whole process is going to be the death of me. haha

It takes money to make money. If you can't afford it, then you have two
choices: 1) Suffer through it by doing it on your own, or 2) Find a way to
make money online without a website.

As Wiz said, better outsource the work and focus on your end goal rather than blowing all of your energy on something frustrating and quit even before you start off.

Yeah sometimes its very stressful even thinking about it makes you frustrated, if you do not want to spend on outsourcing just think about this. "I will make money when this is done right! So I'm going to finish this no matter what!"

give up and outsource for every single design project you ever need done at any point in the future or take the time to learn the ridiculously easy-to-use WordPress and gain the ability to deploy almost any website with minimal effort... your choice...

Gueas its a matter of taste :)

No worries. For WordPress theme customization, you need to know CSS. It will take a couple hours to learn the basics. It's quite simple.

When I learned CSS a couple months ago, I started with the CSS video from Google: Google HTML/CSS/Javascript from the Ground Up Class: CSS Walkthrough

I used to be into outsourcing stuff like this, but when you can do exactly what you want, efficiently and quickly in just a couple minutes, it's a no brainer. Finding someone that can do it quickly, then explaining what I want, then checking it over would take 10x the time.

However, if you're heavily customizing the site with PHP or Javascript or something more complicated (like plugins rather than themes), you'd probably need to outsource that as they are not as easy to learn.

Yeah, I think my best bet is to just continue doing what I am doing.WordPress may be easy for most but it has been extremely difficult task.I guess once I figure it out I wont have to worry about this shit ever again.

Another possible thing you might want to think about:

Since you have a number of recipes, you could break them
up into a series of theme-based Kindle ebooks. For instance:

"100 Quick & Tasty Recipes For Busy People"

    "100 Delicious Meals for Diabetics"

    You get the idea . . .

Theme-based recipe Kindle ebooks sell very well on Amazon.

OP, you are right that its probably so stressful because its the first time youve encountered this situation. I would advise you to just keep on it, you can outsource of course, but nothing is better than knowing how to do it yourself next time around. When I start stressing I just take a break and go outside for a walk or watch a movie or something. It does wonders for your mind.

Its "hard" or "stressful" if you don't like what you're doing. First site I did I did just for fun and loved it. I felt like a genius watching YT tutorials and learning all these neat little tricks that pro's were using on their sites. For really complicated stuff I'd just pay someone on fiver, and when they finished I'd ask them "would you mind telling me where the code is that you changed"? Then they'd tell me the path for the code and I'd never have to pay them again for that certain task (although it took me like 6 months just to learn this lol).

Also, try having more realistic expectations. Cause I'm not sure what you were expecting but nobody learns web design in 1 day. It's a skill like anything else... like changing a timing belt.

Web design is how I got my start in IM. I got fired from my job, fortunately I already knew photoshop inside and out. So I started selling websites and within 2 months I was making more than my job paid. Fast forward about 6 months and eventually I lost my mind and got tired of it. But it's good to know if my online ventures ever fail I can always just go back to selling websites.

Web design is also what got me into local lead gen. It's like a gateway for more opportunities. And it's a really important skill to learn if you plan on making any money in IM. You can outsource a lot of work like Wiz said but I still think you should commit yourself to learning all the basics. If you don't learn the basics you're gonna waste a lot of money on work that takes minutes to do. Like I once paid a "developer" on fiver $60 to put a slideshow on my site. It took me a couple weeks just to figure out all he did was install a plugin and upload my 3 photos. It was less than 2 minutes of work but the guy could smell stupid on me. And I can't even tell you how many times I allowed that to happen when I was a noob. Web designers will pretend like something took them 4 hours to do just cause you don't know a thing about coding. And if you want my real opinion, trying to get into IM w/out learning the basics of web design is like trying to become a chef without learning how to turn on an oven. So learn the basics. Don't make yourself a target for greedy bastards.

Anybody here have any experience in copyrighted recipes? Is it safe to copy and paste recipes if I am only using social media traffic?

It is best to alter them. Change the titles and rearrange/edit/spin the contents.

Make sure you check the articles with copyscape. Its pretty cheap but if you want I can run
some through and check their uniqueness after you rewrite them to help you out.

Its only like 5 cents a check and a must for any webmaster.

He needs to do it himself so he can learn the ins and outs. Outsourcing is for veterans that
have a lot going on at one time.
