UBot is your best bet. You can use that platform to build some bots and even potentially use it commercially.

What kind of bot you want to make..like one which can open some website or just call some api? if you just want some curl calls then go for php-cli and if the websites are complex and you really want to open them in a borwser and interact with them programatically then selenium with chrome is good option. All free and open source of course
